Behringer PMP3000 1,200-Watt 16-Channel Powered Mixer Review

Behringer PMP3000 1,200-Watt 16-Channel Powered Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this powered mixer to replace a defective one at our church. Our sanctuary can seat 900 people and so it is a fairly large auditorium. The mixer has more power than the previous powered mixer and many more features. I especially like the individual channel mute buttons so we can kill a mic without having to move the gain adjustments. The only thing I did not like about this mixer is there was no block working diagram available. So we had to construct one for ourselves. To a trained eye, by using a block schematic diagram, it is easier to know how to set up the mixer for different applications and to troubleshoot a problem.
The actual steady state power output is more like 200 watts (each of the two stereo outputs)for our 8 ohm speaker system but still is greater that the old powered mixer. That is a total of 400 watts as compared to the (at first glance) advertised 1200 watts. We do not have to use the maximum gain on any channel so the output is fine for our use. There is also a headset output that follows the actual powered signal which can give you a better idea of mixed signal that is sent to the speakers and to our DVD and CD recorders.
The people at Behringer were able to answer all my questions without any problems so tech support was great. We did have a little difficulty in figuring out how to use the FX special effects (reverb, etc) generator but once we did figure it out, using it was just as advertised. You can probably guess that the instruction manual is not extensively done. But with a limited budget for an emergency purchase of a powered mixer, we are thoroughly satisfied with the quality and price.
The price is exceptional and caused a few doubting comments about how could we get what we needed for such a small price. We have been using the unit for two months now with absolutely no problems.
My suggestion is that before you purchase this unit, download the instruction manual from the Behringer site. You will see the output connection is not a 1/4 jack. If that is what you have, you will have to buy an adapter or convert the present cable connection to the new type. The adapters or connectors are not very expensive (Neutrik NA4LJX Speakon To 1/4" Mono Jack Adapter)and cost under $11 including shipping. You can optionally by the Speakon connectors and convert the speaker cable to the new connector type.

If you need superior stereo sound for small club gigs, churches or speeches, but have to keep the outboard gear to a minimum, the 16-channel PMP3000 can deliver. This 1,200- Watt mixer has built-in mic preamps and an FX processor, as well as enough power to drive mains and monitors, thanks to dual onboard 600-Watt power amps.

Massive Mono or Stunning Stereo The PMP3000 gives you the choice of 2 x 600-Watt stereo, 2 x 600-Watt dual mono or 1,200-Watt bridged mono sound. Whether the center of attention happens to be a folk trio, a speech, or a synth-rock band with mind-boggling stereo patches, the PMP3000 can accommodate. This sonic versatility also makes it an excellent choice for churches, where vocals and stereo recordings often share face time.
Classic Control, State-of-the-Art Sound Leave the mic preamps at home, because the quality of sound that was once only available in the studio is ready to go wherever you do. Eight built-in, boutique-caliber mic preamps with switchable +48 V phantom power make it possible to use either dynamic or condenser mics with the PMP3000.
Built-in Digital Effects Processor The PMP3000 is also equipped with a 24-bit FX processor, giving you 100 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. In case you're pulling double duty as sound engineer and performer, the FX processor features a footswitch jack for remote on/off.
Changing the Channels The PMP3000 gives you excellent flexibility to accommodate whatever a performance requires. Channels 1-8 are for mics, guitars and other mono instruments. Stereo channels 9-16 are ideal for keyboards. All mono channels have 3-band EQ, switchable Low Cut filter for eliminating infrasonics, and Clip LEDs to indicate when the input signal is too hot.
The Ins and Outs Use the CD/TAPE IN RCA inputs to feed in external stereo signals from CD players or tape decks. The VOICE CANCELLER switch eliminates the vocals from pre-recorded music for karaoke applications.
CD/TAPE RCA outputs send line-level signals from the mixer to a recording device. Left and right output 1/4" connectors are there in case you need to connect more power amps. Connect your monitor power amps or active monitor speakers to the MON SEND output.
A STANDBY switch mutes all mic channels during breaks, preventing the microphones from picking up noise or interference. You can leave all faders untouched while you play a CD via the CD/TAPE inputs.
The FBQ Feedback Detection system automatically shows you which frequencies are causing feedback. Just touch the FBQ button and watch the red LEDs on the 7-band graphic EQ pinpoint which frequencies to adjust for optimized sound, without the feedback.
Speaking of Optimized Output The PMP3000's POWER AMP switch toggles between three operating modes: MAIN, MON/MONO and BRIDGE (the power outputs of A and B on the back panel are added and provided at OUTPUT B). Dual mono mode allows you to use Output A for mono Mains and Output B for monitors. This clever functionality powers both your mains and monitors without the need for an additional power amp.

Allen & Heath ZED-10FX Four Mono Mic/Lines with 2 Active D.I., 3 Stereo Line Inputs and Onboard Effects Review

Allen and Heath ZED-10FX Four Mono Mic/Lines with 2 Active D.I., 3 Stereo Line Inputs and Onboard Effects

Just got the ZED-10FX. So far, I have only tested it and done 1 gig but wanted to get a quick review in for those of you shopping as vigorously as I was. My goal was to find something that had high quality audio but a low channel count and small footprint (I'm a solo musician). It has thus far met my needs.
My first priority was finding quality mic preamps, I've found this to be as important as the microphone that's used. These apparently use the same design as the ones A&H puts in their acclaimed MixWizard series. I can only compare them to the Mackie CFX series preamps that I'm used to and LOVE. The ZED's are just as good or better- really clear, warm, and responsive. I also use a stereo channel to run a loop station with beats, electronic phrases, and live guitars. The overall output of the mixer just sounds great- clean, punchy, musical. The EQ is killer as well, very legit and impactful as you adjust. Knobs instead of faders was initially a turn-off for me but I must say I am really happy with these. They are very well mounted and have a heavy, super smooth movement to them. The gradual and fluid change in the levels as you turn the knobs is far superior to what I'm used to with Mackie. They are also very brightly colored and contrasted for low light identification of everything. I would actually take these knobs over a cheap 60mm fader any day.
I have not done any USB recording so can't say much on that (although it's a little disappointing not to have channel separation as you would get with the cheaper Alesis Multimix). However, the analog recording and signal routing flexibility of the ZED is impressive and sold me. Personally I am running my stage monitor out of the "monitor out" and saving the aux send as well as the assignable "record out" for sub mixing and live recording to a digital 4-track. Also, the circuitry and switching of everything is really clever and illustrated well on the mixer surface with helpful connecting lines.
Construction seems pretty solid short of some barely noticeable stressing on the seams of the red plastic sides (Made in China, par for the course) and the rubber feet are not perfectly level with each other. Neither issue represents any malfunction as far as I can tell but I'll admit its aesthetically annoying.
As far as the FX go, I think they are easy enough to control and the basics are there (reverbs, delays, etc.) However they didn't blow me away sonically at least for recording- just a hair on the cheapy sounding side. I've been fine with them in live application though and they are certainly adequate for this price point.
Overall, this is a great sounding mixer that's the size of a bulky laptop and weighs 8 lbs.! Combine it with some nice active loudspeakers (I use QSC K10s) and you've got a powerful system that fits in your trunk.

This mixer is perfect and affordable. Flexible and feature rich for entry level or budget conscious groups; but make no mistake; this is a reliable piece of equipment and has plenty of inputs for your needs. the effects are fine, but we liked better the ability to fine tune frequencies. We upgraded to the PMP5000 from a good but tired smaller amp that provided many years of service. We have already used the 5000 on a couple of small concerts and it has more than complied to our expectations, we are very happy with this purchase. Love the convenience to connect a player as well.
Note: If you don't have one, I recommend getting a case for the mixer. It will protect your equipment and facilitate transport. Gator has very good ones.

The PRO MIXER DJX700 is a professional 5-channel DJ mixer with great features for club-worn veterans and starry-eyed newbies alike.

Five-Channel DJ Mixer The DJX700 features four dual input stereo channels, and 1 ULN microphone channel with "on air" switch. A dedicated effects loop is ideal for connection of external devices (sampler, reverb processor etc.), and the adjustable crossfader curve lets you adjust for all mixing styles.
Three-Band Kill EQ Dial it in with a three-band kill EQ (-32 dB) and precise level meters with peak hold function on each channel.
ULTRAGLIDE Faders The faders are the heart and soul of every mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, Behringer's high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE faders outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with our faders--audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. The advantage: practically no audio noise caused by mechanical wear.
Built-In Digital Effects Your crowd will be astounded by the 47 breathtaking digital effect presets in 24-bit quality: delay, reverb, flanger, filter, panner, ultrabass, exciter, Vinylizer, voice changer and more. Your audience will be astounded, but they'll never have to know your secret.
Track-Matching Tools Matching tracks is an art in itself. It takes countless nights of practice before you can truly say you have it under your belt. With the intelligent BPM counter, Behringer take a lot of the guesswork out. Features like SYNC LOCK and BEAT ASSIST help you seamlessly align two tracks without having to rely solely on your ears.
Surround Function Behringer also gives you the awesome XPQ 3D surround function. It widens the stereo image and adds life and transparency to your sound--it's a great way to put a unique finishing touch to your sound and make it feel bigger and wider.
Low-Noise Preamps You work either with CDs or vinyl--sometimes both--and they all induce their own noise into the mix. The last thing you want is to pile even more mixer-originated noise on top of that. That's why all of Behringer's DJ mixers incorporate the improved ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, minimal noise and ultra-transparent sound.

Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300-Watt 2-Channel Bass Workstation Review

Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000A 300-Watt 2-Channel Bass Workstation
Average Reviews:

I purchased this amp and put it to work the very next day. I played Bass in a small church service full of 250 or so teens, next to a drummer so loud that my ears rang. I could clearly hear the bass amp.
I used it mainly as a monitor and lined it into the house system, but the band was loud on stage and this amp was up for the task. I didn't even need to turn it to "11."
Add to this the funky Ultrabass and the included pedal, the inputs to mix a CD or MP3 to practice, and headphone jack - this amp rocks.
One caveat: there is a slight noise that can now be heard in the mix. I am going to have that checked. Even so, it hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for the BXL3000A.

Mackie PPM1012 12-Channel, 1600-Watt Powered Desktop Mixer Review

I've been a musician playing in clubs and all types of other venues since the sixties. Some of the bands I've been part of used massive PA systems to get a quality sound. I'm talking racks of power amps, EQ's, Effects , etc. etc..
That was then, this is now. This Mackie board does it all and does it all extremely well !! You'll have plenty of headroom. There is more than ample power when you need it, just waiting to kick in and support your vocals and anything else you run through this board. The effects are superb with two high quality effects processors that you can tweek out and blend the effects to your liking. The clarity of this board is so good that all I have to run is a slight curve on my equalizers to get a nice clean and clear sound. Match this unit up with a high quality pair of speakers and a couple of good powered subs, and you're sound is Happening !!
Sizing down and maintaining good sound at my age is important to me. Other powered consoles I used and thought were OK just don't compare to this. Having a well-polished act, I need the best sounding equipment with the smallest footprint. Although a tad bit heavy, this mixer takes the place of hundreds of pounds worth of PA.
Now, I can't wait to get to the gig and hear my new Mackie. I couldn't be more pleased !!
Jim, SW Fla.

I own two of these subs and are MORE than satisfied! The bass is tight and punchy, but they can go low if you want them to. Make sure you use a crossover with a 24db slope and a good sound processor. I use a Behringer DSP 1424P sound enhancer and a BBE Max X3 crossover...GREAT SOUND!!!!!!!! Also the JRX118S has a 4ohm impedance, so make sure your amp is stable at 4ohms stereo. If are using one amp and are running two subs on one channel and your full range speakers on the other, make sure that your amp is stable at 2ohms. I recommend QSC amps!! These subs are complete over-achievers for the price!!!!!!

This board is packed with features that you would be hard-pressed to find in a board at this price. I wondered how they could do it, until I bought the board. The answer is, they included a lot of features, but left out quality.
The first board I had developed intermittent channel failure. For a while I thought it was bad cords or something else besides the board. The problems became more predicable and were related to 3 of the channels. I stopped using those channels, but didn't trust the board.
Behringer replaced the board with a "new" board, but it was obvious the board had been taken apart - finish worn off the phillips screw heads, scratches on the bottom. When I questioned this, they told me that the board was indeed new, but had been taken apart for "enhancements", although they could not tell me what the enhancements were.
The board worked okay for about 4 months, but now a channel is completely out on the "new" board.
When this thing works, it is a great board. The preamps sound very, very nice. 6 aux, 2 monitor mixes, 4 subgroups - it really has a lot. But, none of that matters if the board does not work as a whole.
My VISA has a free 2 year extended warranty with anything I purchase with the card, so I will get the board fixed, but I honestly don't know what I will do with it after that. I have already ordered a Allen & Heath MixWizard3 16:2 Mixer, which is what I had intended to buy when Behringer came out with this and I decided to give the XL1600 a shot at 1/2 the price.
It was a good try on Behringer's part, they just can't get the quality mixed in with this versatile board. You have heard it many times before, but you usually do get what you pay for.

Behringer B415DSP Digital Processor-Controlled 600-Watt 15 PA Speaker System Review

Behringer B415DSP Digital Processor-Controlled 600-Watt 15 PA Speaker System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this PA for a teenage "garage" band to boost their vocal presence. The sound volume is amazing. Just this one speaker made an incredible difference in their sound. The 15" inch speaker and long-excursion driver really deliver a punch.
Although purchased for vocals alone, the guys run their guitars through a mixer then out to the Behringer with a very satisfying result.
During the band's first gig at a Halloween Concert in a small room (90 X 90) it was apparent that the speaker cabinet would deliver sound better if mounted on a stand. The crowd gathered around the low stage dampened the sound a bit and the vocals were overpowered by the drums. As soon as our budget allows, we will purchase an identical second unit.
I recommend this speaker system--and Behringer as a company--without hesitation. They manufacture a high quality product at a very affordable price.

Behringer Ultrabass BB410 1200W 4x10 Bass Cabinet Review

Behringer Ultrabass BB410 1200W 4x10 Bass Cabinet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Mostly, we have been conditioned into thinking the more expensive, the more better. Gear snobs have often turned their noses up at Behringer products and I don't know why. 90% of the time Behringer makes a product that sounds and performs just as good as equipment that costs hundreds more. Also, they have one of the best costumer services and everything they make is built rock solid. You can't tear this stuff up!
I've been on the market for a new bass cab (mostly a 4x10) for a while now. I've been researching and trying things out and I have come to the conclusion that with whatever I buy, the sound quality simply won't overcome the cost. The Behringer BB410 has a wonderful sound. It can handle way more power than your typical bass player will be carrying around, its 4 Ohms, can be linked with other cabs, and has both 1/4 and Speakeon inputs. It also has a horn that can be turned on and off, and honestly I find it is really low noise. Some cabs I've been trying I've found the horn to be too noisy and I have to turn it off but not the BB410. It is heavy and awkward to move around, but it still fits into the back of my car and I installed casters (instead of the little wheels coming off of the side) to make it easier to move. The speakers really bring out the punchy mid range I desire while keeping the bass low and booming. If you play slap/pop you will find your pops really cut through with that sharp percussive sound bass players tend to like. Playing in a cover band, I need really versatile equipment and this cab is it!
I have played through it with 4 or 5 heads (currently running the Eden E300 into it) and they all sound great! No matter how hard I play and I cannot get the speakers to distort out so it can handle all playing styles. Put high quality head through this thing and its winning.
Basically this is how I feel about this cab. If you aren't getting an Ampeg SVT, get this. If you aren't getting this, get an Ampeg SVT. If you aren't willing to shell out big money for an amazing Ampeg cab, you can be kind to your pockets and still get an excellent cab that will serve you well.

After thorough research on multiple websites I determined that the Behringer EPX200 was the right amp for my situation. The applied situation for this amplifier is for a fraternity house sound system. So, I emphasize the word rugged in the title, haha. It's been almost a month now and this amp is put through its paces multiple times throughout the week. It's powering two Nady 500 watt speakers and they sound great. This amp puts out plenty of power, and the limiter switch on the back is great because it keeps people from doing harm to the amp or the speakers who don't know how to use it. Seriously, even in a large room, this amp pumps out the sound.

Bought this mixer to have the whole band on ONE mixer...... This solved the problem with channels to spare and added some beautifull extras. The busses where great for isolating the whole drumset, vocals etc..... And sending dry sounds to the house PA. The fx are great that no extra gear has to be hauled. In live performances we need minimal fx so these are awesome. Still have to try it out in my studio setup to see the performance there but I don't think I'll be disappointed. Great product and great handling.

Behringer DEQ2496 Component Rack Review

After using this unit about four times, it started crashing with a message that a "fatal error 11" had occured and to reset the device. I could no longer use the device in my live sound PA system due to its unreliability.
I put some heatsinks on the SHARC digital processor chips which were running too hot to touch with your finger. Once the heatsinks were in place, the unit did not crash even after sitting in my garage in 95 degree heat.
If not for this problem, this unit could be an excellent processor unit, superior in fact to units costing far more. The display gives extremely useful information in a clear way. The multi function EQs and compressors are excellent.
Too bad Behringer did not put 50 cent heatsinks in the unit.

DBX DriveRack PX Powered Speaker Optimizer Review

WOW! Think about this thing as a magic wand for your sound system. Even though I only know how to work the wizards, I can already hear the difference. The sound is nice and tight, and I am able to get the bass I love out of my system (2x Mackie SRM450's and a Cerwin Vega CVA-115 sub, second one coming soon!). I started playing around with the compressor and the EQ and I'm amazed at how great my speakers sound. I can't wait to learn how to fully use all the features. I've already told some of my DJ friends to get this. Also, the feedback suppression system on this is great. I DJ weddings and other formal and corporate events. I don't have any complaints so far!

You guys are my heros. Right out of the box the Mixer showed its real colors. Set everything the way it should be and it worked like a champ in the studio. I can't wait to try it on a gig we have in a large building with about 800 people.
When this happens I will rewrite this and let you know.
Thanks for all you do.
Regards,
Jerry
I had a very good response out of this unit. My School reunion, very large room, seating 600+ so you know I had to be good in front of all my schoolmates
I used 4 mains with 1 monitor,a laptop,1 Cordless Mike,1 Wired Mike,all speakon cables and a light setup.
There was no squeals or Hums.In one of the reviews i read where the unit would pop real loud when turning on the power. This was solved by hooking the 2 speakon speaker cables to the unit last after the power was switched on.
This unit was every thing you would need as a DJ.I was very please and got lot of positive comments from everyone.Lots of hand shakeing and hugs saying fantastic job.
Very powerful and easy yo set up.
By the way: I got rebooked for the next reunion.
Thanks Amazon for everything,
DJ&J Entertainment
