Oscar Schmidt 21 Chord Autoharp Review

I purchased this for my six year-old's birthday because her father and I play guitar and she always wants to be a part of the music practice. She is learning to strum in time and be dedicated to practicing an instrument. We all love playing this. Fabulous quality, take some time to tune. Buy the hard case for it and plenty of picks.

Agile AL-2000 Blue Flame Review

Agile AL-2000 Blue Flame
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been playing guitar and recording for over 40 years. I have owned just about every guitar there is including custom built ones and Gibson Les Paul guitars from the 70's. I currently own 5 Agile guitars and am very happy with them.
The Agile AL-2000 looks plays and sounds wonderful. Agile makes many upgrades to this model the 2000 being the base model. It is inexpensive but not a "cheap" guitar.
Agile guitars are made in Korea in the same facilities that produce guitars for the "big name" manufacturers. Rondo has them built to their specifications and is the direct importer who sells direct to the customer. An equivalent Epiphone would cost hundreds of dollars more than the Agile. Rondo music stands behind their products and Kurt who runs Rondo is easy to deal with and very helpful in answering questions and resolving any issues with his products.
The only upgrade I might do on the AL-2000 is to add Duncan JB and Jazz pickups. However it sounds so good at the moment I keep putting it off. Agile also makes some absolutely beautiful upgraded versions of this model with gorgeous real abalone and pearl inlay.
Don't be put off by the low price it's an absolutely great guitar!

Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar Candy Apple Red Maple Fingerboard Review

Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar Candy Apple Red Maple Fingerboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I did what would make most musicians cringe... I bought a new guitar online, sight unseen, no testing, no trying. The only reason I did was because of Fender's reputation, not only for the main Fender brand, but also their careful attention to the Stratocaster brand. I was not disappointed! The guitar is beautiful! The red and white body looks stunning with the maple neck. The paint job and finish are flawless and arrived well protected with peel-off plastic pieces and a micro-foam covering. Everyone who picks it up loves it, not only for the look but also the feel and the sound. The action is good (not too high, not too low) and when paired with my Fender Mustang amp, this guitar sounds like a gem. The HSS configuration is perfect... I can't think of a reason why someone would go with fewer pickups. You can always turn off some of the pickups for different sounds, but if you don't have them in the first place then you don't have the option to get the full range of sound that they provide. Definitely get the HSS, you won't regret it! This has been a wonderful addition to the home for family and friends and is everything that the Stratocaster name is supposed to represent... beauty, quality, tradition, and terrific sound.

I've used my AS73 on hundreds of jazz gigs. Plays great, sounds great, very rugged and dependable, even looks great. I've been playing for nineteen years, and owned Fenders, Gibsons, Yamahas, etc, that I didn't like as much as I love this guitar. You owe it to yourself to try one of these instruments.

RainSong Hybrid Series H-DR1100N2 Dreadnought acoustic with N2 neck Review

RainSong Hybrid Series H-DR1100N2 Dreadnought acoustic with N2 neck
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was at a jam last Sunday night with half a dozen other dreadnoughts pounding away and I was able to cut through lead lines even though I had my H-DR1100N2 strung with relatively wimpy strings (Elixir Polyweb 11's). There were many comments on how nice and big it sounded. I now really appreciate the slightly brighter tone it projects up to the player (I love Polyweb strings for their lack of squeaks, but the dull tone can get annoying when practicing).
My bottom line on the Hybrid: nice conventional looks, no slide out of your lap Ovation effect (all other manufacturer's composite guitars do this), very loud by wooden guitar standards, great tone by wooden guitar standards (traditional RainSong customers will likely prefer the older all graphite models), excellent build quality, so light that other guitarists just want to hold it up to be amazed, a truss rod for us perfectionists, and all the convenience of composite materials (humidity/heat indifference).

Fender Highway One Stratocaster Electric Guitar Flat Black Maple Fretboard Review

Fender Highway One Stratocaster Electric Guitar Flat Black Maple Fretboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got the black one with s/s/s and a maple neck
the finish is smooth and matte nitro. the neck has a matte finish as well and is thin and fast with a wide fingerboard and wide string spacing... 10 inch radius... this neck is awesome fast..!!!
The pickups are very HOT wound alnico 3s and have a rich woody tone. the rwrp middle pickup basically gives you awesome humbucker performance in positions 2 and 4. the alder body is 3 piece and resonates well. the sustain was improved when I installed a callaham bridge block.. unplugged this guitar is LOUD.
Because of the rwrp middle pickup though you do lose some strat quack but it more than makes up for it with the humbucker behavior you get in pos 2 and 4... I love this guitar.. weighs only 7.5 pounds.. screams and is a fast player..

Shred-X Explorer Electric Guitar Ebony (Standard) Review

Shred-X Explorer Electric Guitar Ebony (Standard)

When Something is too good for human beings, Its not available. THere is one used to sell in the world but no more.
everytime I want a good ultra killer guitar, I/you have to pay 3000$ to 6500$.
Worst again, you always have to ask for custom shop over the jackson's and others.
The time to accumulates 2600$ will pass and they will be no more, but thats okay,
Ill buy a jeff hanneman guitar and switches the tuners, the locking nut and every pieces for jet black color, and upgrade for a 2315 jet black kahler bridge. ( like Jeff )
Its such a rage against guitar companies. But it looks like the people wants to have gentle soft kid-like guitars. Unbelievable world. guitar companies are the MAFIA.

Taylor Guitars 655-CE Jumbo 12 String Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

Taylor Guitars 655-CE Jumbo 12 String Acoustic Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wasn't even really looking for a new 12 string. My current one is 35 yrs old though it was always only just adequate. I first played a Taylor jumbo-style 12 (355) about 10 yrs ago and was taken aback by the huge quality of the sound so when I picked this one up I suspected that I would be pleased. What I did not expect was to be blown away. Maple guitars are typically bright but the pureness of the tone and the level of sustain of this guitar is unmatched by any I have ever played. A friend and fellow guitar player picked it up over the weekend and, without any prompting, said that this was the best 12 string guitar he had ever played and that I had hit a home run. I have to admit that this helped to assuage my guilt over spending the $3K and that my wife heard the comment also quieted the "why did you need another guitar...?" I played at least a other dozen 12 strings the day I bought this guitar (Martins, Guilds, other Taylors, new, used, etc.) but none could match this one for the tone that I love in a great 12. It also sounds pretty good plugged in (though you won't need to). Choosing a guitar is always a personal matter but you will be missing out on a very special instrument if you don't give this one a try. It will be the last one you'll ever need. ps. My other guitars are Martins and Gibsons so I do not have a Taylor bias.

Taylor SBX1 Solid Body Classic Electric Guitar, White Review

Taylor SBX1 Solid Body Classic Electric Guitar, White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this guitar a couple of weeks ago and have given her a little time to settle in and find her place in my world. I was a bit skeptical when I first saw that Taylor was making a solid-body electric guitar. I was in the market for a new guitar and have owned nothing but acoustic guitars for the last 8 years so I figured it was time to get an electric guitar. I hold the belief that for the most part you get what you pay for and knew I wanted to get a guitar that would be with me for a long time. Fender Strats sound awesome but I personally don't like their feel. I'd love a Gibson Les Paul but was already looking at a chunk of change to buy one. I saw that this transparent white beauty was at my local guitar shop and decided that since I was "just looking" anyway, I would give her a try. I was thoroughly impressed. Taylor makes a great guitar. It may be that I come from playing acoustic guitars but I love the neck on this thing. The finish is gorgeous (you really need to see it in person to get the full effect). The pickups cover a broad set of sounds and the sound this thing produces is something I quite enjoy. Taylor makes a case specifically for it that it fits in perfectly with no slop. As of right now I'm just as in love with this thing as I was in the first place. I'd recommend it to anyone. One thing I've always heard about buying a guitar is make sure it feels good to YOU, and for ME this one is "just right".

Epiphone Inspired by John Lennon Casino Hollowbody Electric Guitar Lennon Natural Review

I played this guitar at my local guitar center. I got to play with it for about 45 minutes and it stayed in tune the whole time, I even thrashed it with some power chords and it was fine. Its a fantastic sounding guitar, very bluesy or country sounding, but I'm sure that coupled with a crunchy amp this would be a real rock screamer.

Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera P-94 Archtop Electric Guitar Review

Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera P-94 Archtop Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have searched for what I would consider the perfect guitar for a long time. I have had strats, teles, les pauls, jaguars, and prior to this the two guitars that felt best to me was my Gibson SG Classic and Japanese Fender Jaguar. Originally I had been looking at a Casino (always wanted a semi-hollow) and somehow stumbled across this... and if all went well I would not have to replace some crappy stock pickups. Anyways, the guitar came (bought from a different source), action was a bit high and [understandably] the guitar had extremely heavy gauge strings on it - maybe 12's but they felt like 13's to me. Anyways, I put some 10's on it, adjusted the action and intonation and am blown away. For someone looking for a quality semi-hollow on a budget like me and that records a lot while enjoying playing multiple styles that needs a versatile guitar this is GREAT. Mine was MIK if it matters to anyone - I don't like buying Chinese stuff on principle. This guitar is very versatile and can cover many genres with the exception of crushing scooped metal... matter of fact I just recorded a jazz track with it and it sounded great (normally I record and write atmospheric, ambient, guitar driven instrumentals). Gibson P-94's, Frequensator, and Grovers tuners leave little to be replaced.
