(More customer reviews)Just received a brand new Oscar Schmidt tenor uke purchase on Amazon.com. Perfect condition although box was damaged and partially opened. No shipping label was included. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very plush hard shell Oscar Schmidt black case included. I re-read the description on Amazon and the inclusion of the hard shell case was not mentioned. I had already purchased a new tenor-sized case so will have to return it. I would suggest updating the description to say the case is included. The finish on the uke is beautiful. I am just a beginner player but appreciate the rich full sound compared to my soprano uke. I already recommended this uke to someone who is a guitar player and wants to learn how to play the uke.

(More customer reviews)It was very affordable - but - it had not been properly stored. The strings were extremely dirty, some were rusted and one was broken. There was no parts list for reordering parts from Oscar Schmidt. Additionally, due to improper storage, the felts were very dry and hard. It needs retuning every day due to the poor string quality. I'm not sure it was worth the savings. I'm having a difficult time finding a technician to refelt the bars.

(More customer reviews)I've really enjoyed learning on this banjo now. It has a good sound and a great look. It doesn't come with any booklet to tell you about it or how to set up the bridge, but that is really easy to find online. The tuning knobs slip a little bit, but tightening up the screws on them fixes that right up. Watch out though, I tightened one up too much and shattered one of the knobs. Overall I've been greatly pleased with it. Defiantly recommend.

Oscar Schmidt OS45CE Acoustic Electric Auto Harp Review

(More customer reviews)This wonderful, natural spruce top, maple sides and bottom-stained in a reddish sunburst pattern-is a joy to play. It can be played fully acoustically or can be plugged in and with the battery connected-usually included and it "lives" inside a small panel on the back of the instrument (takes 1 9 volt) goes electronic/acoustic. What I mean is that when the battery is connected the instrument then gives you a 4 panel graphic equalizer that allows for adjustment of low range, mid range, top end and overall sound as well as volume output to the not included amp. This has no bearing on the acoustic output of the instrument, only when it is plugged in to an amp. The instrument has great, wonderful, WARM tones in low to mid range and clear sparkling highs that are a joy to hear on the Christmas classics. For a mass production item this autoharp rates well with custom made a-harps. This a-harp is a nice, well rounded instrument for anybody looking to step up from an entry level black 12 or 15 chord OS 73 that are lightweight with no true tones.
Pluses for this harp-4 band equalizer with volume control (when used with a battery and the instrument is to be plugged into an outside amp source). EACH string has a fine tuner installed which makes tuning the instrument to perfection a snap!
Downsides for this harp-the stock setup for the chord buttons is clumsy and not very practical. This is easily rectofied by the owner taking some time to research which chords need to be moved (based on their style/level of play) and then actually moving the chordbars. Plenty of info can be had from various internet sources on better chord bar placement for this and all Oscar Schmidt (Washburn) autoharps. Other than that I am hard placed to name any other downs to this wonderful sounding, great playing intermediate/pro level harp.
This harp will last the average player a lifetime with proper care. The instrument is a great value for what you get.

Fender FM-53S Mandolin, Sunburst Review

(More customer reviews)I have tried more a dozen mandolins (5 in my possessions for a few weeks to few months).
It is solidly built and has really good sound, although the price is a bit higher than I expected (300$, expected around 200$) as I had another one, Ibanez with more features (trust rod + pickup + volume/tone knobs) for only 245$, brand new.
However, for acoustic only, Fender 53S is a very good one, the sound is sweet and loud. I bought it used (second hand) at 80$, spend about 10$ for new strings and a missing tuning button and I am ready to play. This is now my main mandolin for the last 6 months.
Recently, I bought a Mountain Tyler transducer for Amazon (24$ shipping included) and spent about 10 mins to install it. Now my Fender 53S is also electric, it sounds really loud when plugged in.

(More customer reviews)I love the Fender FB-54 Banjo, from the stand point of look, feel & the sound is great. The one draw back for me personally is the width of the neck at the top. It is a little narrow for my fat fingers. I'm having trouble fretting the second string & getting free vibration of the first & third. If anyone knows of a banjo that has a wider finger board I'd love to know about it. I think I'd keep the Fender any way, but I might consider a second banjo to learn on.

I had a Harmony acoustic for about 10 years that the shop had already lowered the action, and did some other modifications to it. With all that it was still hard to play. With the Hohner, out of the box it was ready to play. I took it into the shop only to have a strap peg added to the neck. Even the technician was blown away by the looks of it and was shocked that it was easy to play out of the box. The electronics are great. It has a combination of a saddle pickup and a internal pickup. Both can be blended to make a even deeper sound. The built in tuner is dead on accurate. All I can say is, it is perfect.

Francisco Domingo FG-27 All Solid Classical Guitar, Rosewood Review

(More customer reviews)This guitar is light weight, and very easy to play. But it has construction issues. Although the action is low, the saddle is so tall that the strings have to make a very sharp turn at the end. This makes you wonder how long the strings can last. The sound bridge is not properly glued to the sound board, and there is a small seam/gap between them. The treble is much better than my old all laminate guitar, but the bass is about the same. I returned this guitar.
