I can't say enough about how impressed I am with this guitar. I wasn't really in the market for a jumbo acoustic, but when I spotted this on Amazon for $202, with all the features it has, I just couldn't pass it up. This model lists for $622.90 and normally sells for $349. And it's worth every penny of the $349.
The fit and finish of this thing is near flawless, and the laminated flame maple sides and back look great. Solid Sitka spruce top, bone nut and saddle, scalloped bracing, and plenty of nice binding and inlay, all perfectly done. I've bought far more expensive guitars that were a little sloppy in the finish department. The only tiny things I could possibly find to complain about in this department are a few glue runs coming from the bracing on the inside. The excess was wiped away, but it wasn't totally cleaned up to the point that they weren't visible. Other than that, perfect.
Sound is subjective, so I'll just say that it has a very pleasing tone to me. Nice and full but not muddy. I've heard better from very high-end guitars, but this one still sounds very nice.
The neck is straight, and the frets are well finished with no sharp edges. The factory setup was well done, and the guitar arrived with nice, low action and no buzzing. It was even perfectly in tune after shipping.
My biggest issue with acoustic guitars has always been the rather large necks, but this one isn't bad at all. It's still a little chunkier than most electric necks, but I find it quite comfortable don't have much problem fretting the bass strings with my thumb over the top.
The tuners do seem to be a little cheaply made, but they feel smooth and don't slip. You can't expect a $300 set of tuners to come on a $200 guitar. If they ever start to wear out, I'll gladly replace them with a nicer set and still consider this guitar well worth the money.
I'd recommend this guitar for anyone from a beginner to a seasoned player who doesn't have a huge budget. If everyone started out on a guitar this nice, I think a lot more people would stick with it.
I can't imagine finding a better value in any acoustic guitar. In fact, had I known how nicely made it was going to be, I would have gladly paid $500 without hesitation. Even if you see this one for the normal price of around $349, go for it. It's an outstanding bargain.
