(More customer reviews)I've been playing guitar for a few years now, while I'm not a good player, I have owned a number of instruments and feel I can judge quality pretty reasonably.
On the plus side, the action and neck on this guitar were perfect out of the box. The action is very low with no fret buzz. The neck is smooth, and finished better than the rest of the guitar. The tuners work smoothly, with no slippage. The guitar stays in tune, even with the stock strings. The quality of the electronics is great, there is no static from the knobs, the switch moves cleanly and sharply. The sound is excellent.
The only down side of this instrument is the finish on the body. I ordered online so didn't really understand what the "worn" finish would be. It's sort of a white wash paint. The body is not sanded smooth, there are all kinds of little bumps. The paint is a satin wash, no gloss at all (that was expected). Obviously this is where Gibson saved money to reach this price point.
Overall I am very pleased with this instrument. It is well built, sturdy, the components appear to be high quality. In the future I'll add strap locks and a bone nut. The finish on the body isn't great, but it doesn't affect playability, and I imagine the more it's played the more bumps will get knocked off making it look more worn.
