This Taylor DN4 is the best acoustic guitar I have played. My choices came down to a martin D-28 or this DN4. The Taylor was over 1000 less. If you like all the inlay and flash of some high end guitas, this Taylor is not for you. It is very modest which makes me think I paid for quality tonewoods and build.
I like the big sound of the Dread size and plugged in is very warm.
I would say the action is very good. It came with med gauge strings which was a little hard on my solidbody light gauge fingers.
Changed out with D'adds EXP light and have not looked back. Open air sound is thinner but doesn't shred my fingers after four hours of playing.
I have 30 years of amatuer playing and home recording. I do not make a living performing or playing music, just hobby level.
Gear: Roland VS2000CD DAW, Sonar 5, KRK Monitors, Digitech RP-12, LP Custom, 335 solidbody, Epi Sheriton, Yamaha Pacifica. Fender Acoustic.
