Hughes & Kettner 25th Anniversary Edition Tube 20W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp, Black Review

Hughes and Kettner 25th Anniversary Edition Tube 20W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp, Black
Average Reviews:

I had spent the last month trying to find the perfect tube combo that packed a punch. Went through a peavey classic and a fender hot rod deluxe trying to find a tone that fit my interests, finally this amp did it for me. The cleans are so smooth and sharp, and the overdrive can be anywhere between a vox and a marshall feel. Changing channels with the footswitch really got me excited about this amp. Most of the other low watt tube amps I was considering only had one channel. And unlike most guitar players, I am not a fan of distortion pedals. I want a real drive to switch to. I like writing quiet to loud type music and this amp is perfect for that!!! When I saw it, I was not expecting what came out. It really shocked me how loud this amp could get. At only 20 watts this thing is a beast!! The reverb is pretty nice too. It has a real defined sound. Overall I do not see ever getting rid of this gem. It is the closest I have ever had to a boutique amp and I feel a little spoiled.

This is a good looking guitar, very nice finish, the action on this guitar very well done, it is ready to play rigth out of the box, the only down side it is the pickups it is not what I was expecting, very weak sound, looks like the pay way to much attention on the way the guitar looks, but forgot about the sound. for the $500 I pay for this guitar, I was expecting better sound ,my Silvertone masterpro (139.00 Amazon.com )sound way better than Michael Kelly Patriot that is why this is a Good looking guitar! with low performance pickups.

Takamine TAN16C Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Gloss Natural Review

Takamine TAN16C Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Gloss Natural
Average Reviews:

Beautifully constructed and finished, amazing sound either acoustic or plugged.
This guitar is wonderful, just 2 weeks playing and it works very well. The woods give you a bright tone but sweet at the same time, the balance between bass and treble is wonderful. Very comfortable to play either with your fingers or with a pick.
When you play it acoustic it sounds incredible but when you plugged it is when you find its real value, the preamp itself sounds good but when you include the on board tube on the chain the sound is huge, sweetly compressed as only tubes can. No more boomy bass on a guitar, you can understand every detail. I have even played on some concerts with it and everyone at my band is amazed. Nice choice. I made an extensive research and found this like the one I was searching for... now that I own it, I can proudly say that I was right.
Recommended!!!

Fender Road Worn '50s Stratocaster Electric Guitar 2 Tone Sunburst Review

Fender Road Worn '50s Stratocaster Electric Guitar 2 Tone Sunburst
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I work and teach in several music stores and get my hands on a lot of Strats. When I saw the Roadworn strat I was extremely sceptical and could hardly wait to scoff and critisize it.
First I was impressed with it's authentic feeling light weight. When I plugged it in (without knowing what pick-ups it had) I heard a great Strat-y tone. The 10 gauge set of strings (higher than standard shelf-strat gauges but lighter than my usual 11-52 preference) gave it great snap and twang. All the specs seemed as good as any relic I've played and of course the look was there.
The price was my only concern, almost as much as a "real thing" American strat. But it felt and sounded GREAT! I reached an agreement with store and went for it. I've used it on many jobs and really like it. I have no regrets or dissappointments. I own more expensive Strats, including the Custom Shop 1954, but frankly don't want to take them to the rougher gigs. And I can't afford an actual 50's strat, which I would REALLY be scared to take to some of these jobs.
I like the look, feel, fun, and most of all TONE of this strat, and it's not irreplaceable. I was sceptical, but it won me over.

Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 212 40-watt 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp Review

Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 212 40-watt 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this amp lightly used from a dude on a popular auction site. I had used the previous model MK1 1x12" Spider Valve and I had been immensely happy with that amp. This new amp is a significant leap forward in tone, volume, editing capabilities and ease-of-use (provided you buy one of the pedals, I prefer the FBV ShortBoard).
When I plugged her in and set the model to Class A, turned the drive up to 85% and strummed that first chord, the amp gently took the electrical signal from my pickups, caressed it gently, shaping the tones into wisps of tonal joy and pleasure, as it passed the signal through the tubes and to the Celestion vintage 30 speakers, where the signal was transmuted into an airborne assault of gentle yet powerful aural bliss. Even when one has the testicular fortitude to attempt to draw every ounce of overdrive and distortion out of this amp, it never sounds bad. When the Insane model is selected and the drive pushed to 100%, the end result is a heavy yet pleasing inundation of sound and drive that sounds tremendously better than any "metal" effect I've heard thus far.
This amp is like a loyal Labrador, always willing to perform to it's best capability, desperately desiring to not only please you but to show you how much it cares for you by going above and beyond, yet when sleeping in bed with you, it takes up a bit more room than you prefer and halfway through the night you end up putting it back on the floor so you can sleep well. In the morning, you wake up and see it all alone, curled up in the corner and you feel bad for kicking it out of the bed. But you needed the rest, you've not been performing well at work lately and your boss is coming down on you for being tired but you feel so bad that you let the Man get you down and you start to wonder whether it's worth it keep going at the grind when you'd be much happier with you and your amp/labrador just travelling the countryside with no cares, no worries, just meeting people and playing music. Or frisbee.
Also, the amp is very loud.
