JBL EON 515 Lightweight Two-Way 15-inch 450-Watt Self Powered Speaker with EQ and 3 mix Inputs Review

JBL EON 515 Lightweight Two-Way 15-inch 450-Watt Self Powered Speaker with EQ and 3 mix Inputs
Average Reviews:

I have worked with various self powered speaker enclosures over the years from 8", 10" 12", 15", and 18" powered sub-woofers. All of these speakers work well but I find the JBL EON series to have the best overall performance and looks. These boxes can put out a punch...more than expected. The EON's have built in limiter to prevent you from killing the drivers. I've never heard distortion from an EON. I especially like the new looks of the series 3 EON's. I've grown tired of the round woofer and rectangular tweeter design that so many copy. They look cool for the techno-geeks the the average listener doesn't care about how a speaker looks. The new design is less conspicuous and blends in with the surroundings than the older designs. I plan on buying many more EON's for my systems. An unexpected feature is the JBL logo on the front of the box lights (or can be turned off). I've found this helpful in making sure the speaker is powered...where in my case a circuit breaker tripped and I noticed the light was off on one box which led me to find and fix the problem.

Gator G MIX ATA Mixer and Equipment Case (24 x 36 Inches) Review

Gator G MIX ATA Mixer and Equipment Case (24 x 36 Inches)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this case for my Behringer PMP6000 Powered Mixer to protect it from damages while being moved from one venue to another. I'm a professional musician & the last thing my band would need is having one of our main pieces of gear for the PA System get damaged.
No, this is not an anvil roa case however, it does exactly what I need it to do. I knew I bought the case larger than the PMP6000 but, after doing some very minor alterations the case firmly holds the mixer & I have the additional space to store the speaker cables, extra connectors, mixer light along with other items that go along with this portion of our PA.
The "butterfly locks" securely keeps the case closed with no room for failure (such as the case popping open while in transit); the pull out handle & wheels are a bonus & the unit is generally strong enough to handle any possible damage while keeping our gear safe.

Hofner CT Series Beatle Bass; Sunburst Review

Hofner CT Series Beatle Bass; Sunburst
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me start by saying this is a mirror image of the '63 German made bass.... except it does not sound like the original due to a sustain block built in under the pick ups. This is why it is called the CT, a Chinese made more modern/contemporary sound at a much reduced price using the same German components that are standard on there German cousins. Out of the box like the ICONS version you need to replace the inferior roundwound strings. I strongly recommend La Bella hofner short scale strings.
The real difference aside from the sound difference is the weight. It weighs more then any other Hofner violin bass variant.
German made Hofners are very expensive and yes they have that unigue hollow body sound so closely associated with the Beatles. If you are looking for a low cost replica of the most popular bass ever, this is as close as you get without the German pricing. Just be prepared for the sustain block/solid body sound that is not going to give you the signature hollow body sound, for that if you cannot afford the German version you need to look harder at the less expensive ICONS variant. I own a '63 original, '62 re-issue, 2011 CT and the ICONS of my original review.
The CT is a beautiful addition to my Hofner collection. However, looks aside this is a different animal and I encourage you to do more research on this variant before purchasing

Java Boost Treble Gain Booster Pedal Review

Java Boost Treble Gain Booster Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just got this several days ago and tried it with my telecaster into a 71' blackfaced Pro Reverb. The pedal has a tone knob that cuts highs, and a level knob for output volume. There is a three position switch that is mid boost, high boost, and full range boost. Set for high boost it is the Dallas Rangemaster treble boost circuit. In the high or mid boost it cuts a little bit of bass from your tone but kicks up your highs or mids(depending on the switch)probably 5db or so. Full range probably the same but everything is boosted so no bass loss. What is cool to me is everything runs thru a NOS transistor that adds a grainy, very light distortion to your tone. This you can't adjust. You set your amp into just breaking up and step on this to get a kick in the frequency you selected, and use the level knob to load up your input gain. Running the output knob at 12:00 is a little boost and if you turn it way up your probably sending 25 or so db into your amp. It's not a distortion box on its own, just a kick in the pants of your guitar signal. I used to do the same basic idea with a Boss 7 band EQ. Kick up low/mids and add several db's of output level. With the Boss and TS 808 overdrive pedals out there, your buying somebody elses idea of what a good sound is, and some of those sound great. I have several of those pedals, but then so do a million other guitar players. This Java Boost does an adjustable volume boost, but adds the grainy, barely there sixties distortion. It fattened my tele rear pickup into a thick, but not dark sounding guitar. The circuit is from the mid sixties and rumor is Eric Clapton used one when he recorded the Bluesbreakers album. A vintage Rangemaster is well over $1000.00 if you could find one in working order. This is the same circuit, with some other boost options that don't alter the original treble boost design if it's in the treble boost option on the three way switch. I prefer the mid boost myself, but that was with the tele and the Pro Reverb. With my Les Paul and my JCM 800 I may run it totally different. My only other boost pedal on my board is a Nano LPB 1 by EH. They are only $40.00 so I'm not just buying expensive stuff to impress my friends. They are a great pedal also for kicking your amp. The Java just has its uses. Very pleased with it.

bought this sub because it said "OPEN BOX BUY" from Amazon's warehouse store. $510.00. The sub has a rattle that you can hear when it is powered on and signal is going thru it. You do not hear when paired with top speakers (4- MRX12m, so that is ok. Otherwise, it kicks.
I was told on the web page when I bought it that I would get 12 months on the Amazon Store card, but I only have 6 months to p[ay for it. Fishy.
OVerall, good price for good sub. I now own 2, the other I got from MF with 15% off brand new.
The sub weighs 70 lbs!!! and it's powered. I did a 24 hour gig for Relay for Life, and all my JBL gear took it without compromise. So did my Carvin TRX12m monitors (6). QSC amps never failed, GX5 and PLX1602.
I hope this review helps, you get what you pay for. If you are a DJ, don't go cheap like 90% of your brotherhood does (they like to buy Behringer stuff, what crap that is?? Buy quality gear and spend a little bit more money. YOu will have the gear for many years to come.

SubDecay Prometheus Review

SubDecay Prometheus
Average Reviews:

The best Filter Pedal in the world. I have tried every filter Pedal out there and this is the most musical useable sounds and the most user freindly filter on the market. You can dial in any / Wah / or funk sound you could possibly want. Cheap price considering its potential. My five year search for the right filter is finally over for now. Now I am curious about The Subdecay DLX Pedal. If you are in doubt check out their demo on youtube. What you see is what you get. I know some video demos fabricate the sounds of effects units to put out more than they actually can without using enhancement computer software. But this pedal can deliver the same smooth wah and filter sounds that they show off the Prometheus on the Subdecay website or on Youtube. If you are looking for Totally Spaced Out Sound effects and Bizarre Filter sounds don't buy this Pedal. But if you are looking for a Filter sounding pedal that is pleasing and very smooth and musical then this is your pedal. Funk /Reggae /Blues / Modern and Smooth Jazz / Country / Zydeco / Rhythm & Blues/ Classic Rock / End Of Story Go Out And Buy One Now / You Won't Regret It

RackVax Electric Review

RackVax Electric
Average Reviews:

If you ever dreamed of of having your guitar sound like a Strat, LesPaul, Jazz guitar, sitar or a Martin 6 or 12-string acoustic, then Rackvax is for you! Not only can you get all these sounds (including customized alternate tunings) from your favorite axe, you can switch among the sounds instantly. For any Alex Lifeson fans who need to switch between acoustic and electric guitars on the fly, this is what you've been waiting for. I have been a guitarist for over 30 years, and while I have always liked the Variax technology, I haven't been as thrilled with the Variax line of guitars. Rackvax takes care of that! All you need is a guitar with a 13-pin midi pickup. I have several guitars with the Roland GK-3, Ghost and RMC hex pickups which all work well. IMO the Ghost Hexpander pickup has the brightest sound and is a first choice-professional installation is the way to go.
The unit can be tweaked with Line6's Variax Workbench software (free download) which makes full customization a breeze. The rack mount unit has simple knob controls, but essential functions can be selected by on board guitar switching or via a midi pedal board. Going to the gig has never been easier!

Raxxess ER1216 Sloped Studio Rack with Casters (12 over 16 Space, Black Oak) Review

Raxxess ER1216 Sloped Studio Rack with Casters (12 over 16 Space, Black Oak)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I never expect much from knockdown furniture, but I was still disappointed. I had two big issues with this product. The first issue is a problem with the side pieces. The holes for the rails have pilot holes, which is good. The problem was that both sides were drilled the same. The pilot holes were drilled on both pieces as if they were both for the left side. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the problem until after I had the rails installed. The instructions have you install the rails on the side boards before assembling the cabinet. There's really no reason for that and I would have noticed the problem if I had put the cabinet together first. If I had noticed the problem before hand, I could have easily drilled the pilot hole all the way through the side and corrected the problem. That's how I ended up fixing it, but now I have ugly holes on the right side of the rack that are very visible.
The other problem is that there aren't enough screws to complete assembly. The screws supplied fit both the rails and the casters. There's not enough included to secure both. I had to go buy more to secure the rails properly. I checked the packaging and I received the number of screws they specied, but if you put a screw in each pilot hole they pre-drilled, they are short about 6 screws.
Aside from my extra holes ... the completed assembly looks pretty good. They did a god job on the laminating in that only the back edge of the pressboard is left exposed. They also provide black covers for the screws. Be aware that this rack has a front rail only, so if you are mounting something heavy you'll need to put those items on the very bottom so that you have the bottom of the rack for support.
For some reason, the product picture has changed since I order. This rack has the top portion of the rack sloped. The current picture is just a standard rectangle rack. Be sure you know what you're ordering.

Replacement Strat Parts Kit Black Review

Replacement Strat Parts Kit Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this set to finish a guitar that I am building from scratch. At first glance, it looks like a great deal. I ordered this kit and immediately contacted the vendor (WD Music) with a question. I asked if the pickguard, trem cover, knobs, etc. were black and if they were not could they sub black. The response I got was that no, they are white and that if I had wanted them black, I should have called in the order and that it was too late now to do anything.
5 days later the box arrived at my door. It was very well packed and complete with all the parts described. The pickguard was pre-wired and ready to go. There were not any instruction sheets what-so-ever. I have to say that I was less than pleased with the quality of the items. The tuners are very cheap Kluson Delux machines with plastic knobs. The pickguard is a white-black-white and is of decent quality. Pickups are Kent Armstrong, and the jury's still out on those. Cord jack and strap buttons are low quality and a dingy satin black finish. The tremolo is also the same dingy satin black and seems to be low to medium quality. The "extra parts" are lowest-of-low quality and include 2 screwdrivers a super cheap string winder, strings, polishing cloth and cord.
In all, for half the price it would be an ok set, for $250, it's not.

I havent played my guitar without this phaser on since I got it a month ago. It sounds like a dream, you can make it subtle or prominent, fast or slow. The autophase is incredible, it brings funk and soul to everything that you play. Normally I wouldn't pay this much for a phaser, but I decided to go with this over other cheaper phasers because of the analog signal, the sheer amount of sounds that you can produce from this thing and the autophase method, it was worth every penny!

Lace Sensor Red Silver Blue Loaded Pickguard Pickup Set Review

Lace Sensor Red Silver Blue Loaded Pickguard Pickup Set

First of all, I'm going to have to strongly disagree with the other reviewer. This pickguard is intended for an american stratocaster. I think somewhere in the instructions this is stated. Also, wouldn't you make sure that this was the case before making the purchase?
Having said that, these are awesome pickups and very quiet and can work for many different styles of playing. Having these in my AMERICAN strat has turned my guitar into a tone monster.
Having been a pro player for many years, I can recommend this pick ups without reservations.
If you want a quiet/great sounding pick up set, look no further.

Can't comment on the mic pres because I come in from an external board, but the A/Ds sound very good to my ears. Biggest drawback for anyone who wants to capture at high fs and bit depth but with repurpose option for Red Book CD is the lack of 88.2 kHz sampling rate. This is a HUGE oversight in my opinion.

Fishman AFX Pedal - Delay Review

This is an awesome delay for acoustic. Unlike most effects pedals these are voiced for the acoustic, not overpowering and not mechanical sounding, very warm. I also have the AFX Chorus and the AFX Delay. With all three the possibilities are endless. Stand alone you can get a lot of interesting sounds and effects. Ive run them through my amp and direct and was blown away by the quality of the sound . If you Google around you can find a bunch a demo videos on line. They are pricey but if your seriously looking to broaden your sound this is definitely a must for your gig bag.
