Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo Review

Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo

This is a very nice item. Specially for its price.
If you think it will suck, then you're definetely wrong.
It has a nice eq power and it's very loud for it's 200W RMS. I'd recommend it for small to medium sized gigs and to jam.
It has a nice vintage sound, and the built-in horn gives you the treble you want in a nice proportion.
I'd definetely recommend it for it's price. You may find better thing with more money, but you'll have a hard time searching for a quality like this in this price.
Definetely recommend it

Genz-Benz Shuttle 3.0 300 Watt Lightweight Bass Amp Review

I have been using this unit for almost over a year now and I am very impressed. I play bass guitar for the Army band and our unit is currently deployed to Afghanistan. I got this head a month or so before we deployed and now that the deployment is almost over I can truly say this little head is for pros on the road! The structure itself is rugged and has put up with being dragged all around AF (not like that were an issue, it weighs next to nothing so it's easy to move and small too!). It has simple controls but they are authentic. 9 times our of 10 a bass amps' EQ has several bands, but it's still a weak EQ, this amps' three knobs and 3 switches (boost/cuts for highs&bass/mid) give you a full range to play around and the tone is pure bass. No filters, no loss of tone when the gain goes up. It will sound like your bass, maybe for the first time!
It also comes with varrying voltage capacity, which especially in Afghanistan (or on the road in general) comes in handy since you don't always know the levels you'll get when you show up for the next gig.
Overall, this head is a solid amp, it does the job and it does it darned well. Get yours today if you live on the road and play bass :)

Gallien-Krueger MB200 - 200W Ultra Light Bass Amplifier Review

Gallien-Krueger MB200 - 200W Ultra Light Bass Amplifier

I've been an electric and upright bass player for over 15 years, and have been gigging regularly for the past 10 or so.
I hate hauling heavy gear.
I absolutely hate it. I build my own cabinets so I can shave pounds off of my load-in. I run with the smallest possible rig that I can get away with for any given show.
Because of that I've been watching the ultra-light part of the amp market for quite awhile now, waiting for good Class-D amps to make their way into the live audio segment at reasonable prices.
My last lightweight amp was a Crate Powerblock, 150w @4ohms and at least 4 times the weight of this one. Only problem with it is that it's a guitar amp, so it goes into overdrive when you turn the gain up past about 12 o'clock. It served my needs for gigs where I had a good PA and just needed my amp for on-stage monitoring, but I still had to haul a big (50lb) old school 350w head for most gigs without a PA.
I tried a Bose Packlite A1 power amp, but it didn't have the oomph despite allegedly being rated at 250w.
I call BS on those specs, the Crate was louder at it's 150w.
This MB200 though is freaking awesome.
Designed for bass, 200W of CLEAN power in a tiny package, and it doesn't cost a fortune like the EA mini or micro series, Walter Woods stuff, or Genz Benz shuttles. I generally run it off my Fishman platinum pre-amp just so I have tonal control easily at hand, but I'm starting to consider leaving that at home as well. The EQ on the MB200 is very solid, it's got an XLR output with switchable pre/post output, and Speakon or quarter inch power outputs.
It fits in the pouch of my upright bass bag and can serve as my primary amp for any gig I play that doesn't have PA support, and doesn't break the bank at just over a buck a watt.
What's not to love?

Genz Benz Shuttle STL6-0-12T Bass Amplifier Review

Ive played many combos, but this one is the best. The tone on the head is fantastic and the speaker is nice and light and portable. This combo is perfect for practice and small venues. Play in a louder band? Then pick up the matching extension cabinet and get the full 600 watts into a 2-112 setup. The Shuttle head is a very clean head, which can dial in just a bit of grunt. If you are looking for a crystal clear head, with a fantastic DI and a very good preamp section thats easy to carry around, this is it.

Fender Rumble 150 Bass Amplifier Review

Fender Rumble 150 Bass Amplifier

(More customer reviews)
My daughter was playing electric guitar for some time and now she decided to play bass. Because the regular amp can't hanlde bass guitar well, we did what I think the best way to choose an amp - went to a store and just started trying out different amps they had there.
We started with Rumble 75 and it was ok, but not that great. Than we went through some other amps until we tried that one. Apparently, this one is quite special. It has a combination of a huge 15" speaker, a dedicated horn for the highs and a large cabinet. Apparently, in the bass world, the size really matters. The Rumble 350 can go much louder, but no other amp (well, in similar price range) could deliver the sounds of the 150.
And one more thing. You may think "I don't need that much power cause I have a small place, so let's get something smaller". That logic may work for regular guitar amp, but for the bass you just can't get right sound off the smaller box. So you may never crank up volume to pump out all 150 watts, but you'll still be better off with a bigger amp, it's not about the volume, it just sounds better.
Bottom line is this amp really stands out for the price and fundamentaly it has some better components so you should take a look at this one.

Gallien-Krueger 210MBE - 2x10, 400 Watt Ultra Light Bass Guitar Cabinet with Horn Review

This cabinet is very lightweight and is the perfect compliment to the Gallien-Krueger MB210 combo amp. If you have that combo, you probably care a lot about having power in a very lightweight package. Add this cab and you have yourself a Mini-Stack Of Doom: 500w through four 10" speakers all at 73 pounds.
On the negative side, the horn is kind of hissy and produces a bass guitar sound that is too crispy for my tastes. I'd leave it off unless pumping your iPod through the amp or playing an acoustic six-string guitar through it (works well).
