I have used these decks with a pioneer djm400 mixer for many years now and I absolutely love them. They are much less expensive than their big brother the cdj1000 but are nearly identical in performance. OK...the cdj1000 has hot-cue points, more tempo control, more loop functions and control of deck torque with a waveform display (in the mk3s) etc. etc. but I find that the 800s give most DJs more than enough bang for their buck. They are straight-forward and work exactly as they should. I have taken them on the road many times for many years and they still work great. They never lose the beat and never fail me in performance. The vinyl mode works very well and feels intuitive and natural. Scratching is a pleasure and feels/sounds good. I like that the play and cue buttons on the 800s require a tiny bit more pressure than the 1000s to work as a couple of times I have accidentally set off the track on the right hand side cdj1000 deck when using the effects button and control on Pioneer mixers as they are very close to the play button on the right-hand side deck when pushed close together (maybe just because I'm more used to the 800s) I mean, for sure if I had had the cash I would get the 1000 mk3s or 2000s,(If you own a club then you will probably just be getting the 1000mk3s or 2000s) but for spending so much less I think the 800s are probably actually a better value for the average DJ. They are totally solid and professional and you will love them!
