Schecter Damien-6 Electric Guitar (Satin Black, Left Handed) Review

for 400 bucks, your getting a hellofa lot more than you paid for. for one, how often do you find a left handed guitar that's this cheap? and even if you do find one, how good of a guitar is it? not to mention it has EMG PICKUPS!!! That alone should sell you... the only complaint i have is that the action had to be adjusted when i pulled it out of the box. so in other words, no complaints really cus that's exspected anyways. The cut away makes the frets easy to reach. Sounds AMAZING... good for shredding or clean sound. If you think the bats are hard to use to find the frets, don't worry. it has dots on the top of the fretboard so it's actually still pretty easy. the black finish looks beautiful. this is my first schecter but i'm completly in love with it and plan to buy more from them in the future.

Daisy Rock WildWood Artist Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Sunset Burst Left Handed Guitar Review

Daisy Rock WildWood Artist Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Sunset Burst Left Handed Guitar

I bought this guitar for my daughter for her 10th birthday; she had earned it after learning to play on a second-hand classical. It was very hard to find a left-handed guitar for a girl with very small hands! The first time we tried to put the strap on we realized the strap buttons on the guitar were placed as they would be on a RIGHT handed guitar, so the using the strap was not an option. Still, we were going to keep it, and get a knob put on the other side, but then the built-in tuner stopped working after three weeks (and two battery changes). Her guitar teacher said for what we paid (unfortunately a lot more than the first reviewer!), we should return it, so we did. I got drawn in by the girl power aspect of the guitar, which is pretty cool, but in so doing I did not evaluate the guitar's craftsmanship as well as I should have. I hope the guitar's quality catches up with its cosmetics.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Electric Guitar, Left-Handed, Heritage Cherry Sunburst Review

If you are looking at this guitar when played you will see that the "Les Paul" lettering on the head stock and the "standard" lettering on the truss rod cover are upside down. I know this is purely cosmetic but for 3 grand this guitar should be perfect.

Improving a legend isn't easy, but it's happened. Introducing Gibson USA's 2008 Les Paul Standard--an elegant revision of a true classic, with upgrades and new features that make it the best Les Paul Standard ever produced. Based on consumer feedback and a drive to uphold and enhance the legacy of the Les Paul Standard, Gibson USA's 2008 model sets a new guitar benchmark for excellence and achievement. Play the new 2008 Les Paul Standard from Gibson USA and experience the evolution of the greatest electric guitar of all time.

The World's Most Legendary Guitar
New Asymmetrical Neck Profile The 2008 Les Paul Standard debuts Gibson's newest neck profile--an asymmetrical design that makes it one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered on any guitar. The new ergonomically-correct profile is tapered, and designed to be thicker on the bass side, and thinner on the treble side, closely outlining the natural form of the hand as it grips the neck. The 2008 Standard necks are machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. Once the rosewood fingerboard gets glued on, the rest--including the final sanding--is done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.
Chambered Mahogany Body Every new 2008 Les Paul Standard will benefit from Gibson's proven chambering technique, which leaves each guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. Prior to gluing the maple cap on top of the mahogany body, the expert craftsmen at Gibson USA carve out carefully mapped-out chambers in the body using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) router. The positioning of the routes was established after careful examination of the resonant characteristics of the Les Paul. Gibson approached this process with the awareness that every change to the formula would have repercussions on the instrument's sound. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player's back and shoulder, these lighter Gibson guitars also enhance the tone palette in a manner unique only to these guitars. The results are comfortable, lightweight guitars that are acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance.
TonePros Locking Tune-o-matic Bridge and Locking Stopbar Tailpiece The Tune-o-matic bridge was the brainchild of legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty in 1954, setting the standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. The 2008 Les Paul Standard features TonePros locking Nashville Tune-o-matic in a chrome finish, which has saddle adjustment screws on the pickup side, and pre-notched saddles for quick installation. The chrome locking stopbar tailpiece is also from TonePros. These parts come with locking studs designed to secure both components firmly to the body so that there is no lean, yielding a great union between the strings and body which results in excellent tone and sustain.
Pickups: Gibson Burstbucker Pros Gibson's drive to recapture the magic of the original "Patent Applied For" humbucker pickups of the 1950s culminated with the introduction of the Burstbucker line in the early 1990s. In 2002, Gibson followed up this innovative accomplishment with yet another breakthrough in pickup design--the Burstbucker Pro, designed specifically for the new Les Paul Standards. The Burstbucker Pro features an Alnico V magnet (instead of the Alnico II), which offers slightly higher output and allows preamps to be driven a little harder to achieve a more natural break-up. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils--true to the original PAFs--which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback.
Revolutionary Plek Set Up The 2008 Les Paul Standard is one of the first models from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made, computer controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with the fingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playability of the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthier several hours--sometimes even days--to accomplish. Every fret is accurately aligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument "Plek'd" and amazingly playable.
Locking Neutrik Jack Neutrik has been making superior electronic interconnection products since 1975, making them the logical choice to supply the performance safeguarding jack in Gibson's 2008 Les Paul Standard. Like many Neutrik products, the jack in the 2008 Les Paul Standard is manufactured from strong, high-grade thermoplastics and housed in a rugged diecast nickel shell. A retention spring inside the jack ensures optimum grip on any guitar cable, thus avoiding the chance of lost connection.
Locking Grover Tuners The 2008 Les Paul Standard is outfitted with locking tuners from Grover, which deliver ease of use through a standard tuner and positive locking mechanism that securely locks each string in place. Simply insert each string through the string hole, turn the dial on the bottom of the tuner to lock the string, and begin tuning. Each string can be tuned to pitch in less than one complete revolution of the post. These Grover machine heads feature completely sealed components with an improved 18:1 tuning ratio.
Gold-Plated, Custom-Made Potentiometers by Bourns The 2008 Les Paul Standard features all newly designed controls, including custom-made, gold-plated potentiometers manufactured by Bourns, one of the industry's leading makers of guitar electronics. These new potentiometers deliver accuracy and high reliability, while giving the Standard '08 a new level of sonic clarity and intensity never before seen in a Les Paul.
New Enlarged Neck Tenon The 2008 Les Paul Standard sports a revolutionary enlarged neck tenon designed by Gibson's team of pioneering engineers. The expanded neck tenon features an innovative interlocking joint that allows the neck to be dropped into the body from the guitar's top side, as opposed to sliding the neck in from the rim. When the glue is added, a solid unyielding bond is created that maximizes the wood to wood contact between the neck and the body, offering increased stability and superb transfer of vibration for enhanced tone, improved sustain, and superior resonance. It is also the largest neck tenon in the history of the Les Paul.

Gibson SG Standard Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome Hardware Left Handed Review

Gibson SG Standard Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome Hardware Left Handed
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am 36 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 18. I've been playing the Gibson sg series for 10 of those years. Of course, I own a Fender Strat, a Washburn and an Ibanez as well, nothing beats the sound and feel of a Gibson. This guitar is geared for some serious rock and roll and metal. Gibson uses the best wood, the best pick ups, and the best electronics. The black finish shines like a brand new sports car and I love the inlays on the fret board. The neck has a very good feel and plays quickly for me. I really love this guitar and I'm sure you will as well.

Gibson's best-selling SG Standard shatters all perceptions of what an electric guitar can--and should--be. The slim, lightweight mahogany body; unmistakable twin cutaways, pointed horns and beveled edges; the fastest neck in the business; a pair of Gibson's screamin' humbucker pickups--all irresistible features coveted by some of the greatest guitar players of all-time. Various SG models have been played on-stage by the likes of Pete Townshend, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, Robby Krieger, Chris Robinson, Alex Lifeson, Derek Trucks, Elliot Easton, Jim James, Jeff Tweedy, Moby, Keith Urban, Nick Jonas, Rocco DeLuca. When will you add your name?

Solid Mahogany Body
Probably the most central of all SG features is its solid mahogany body. The mahogany goes through the same rigorous selection process as all of Gibson's woods, and is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the factories. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This ensures all woods are dried to a level of "equilibrium," where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, and controls the shrinkage and warping of the woods, in addition to reducing the weight. It also improves the woods' machinability and finishing properties. Consistent moisture content means that the SG will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.
Gibson's 490R and 498T pickups give you the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, but with a slight increase in upper mid-range response.

Francisco Domingo FG-27 All Solid Classical Guitar, Rosewood Review

Francisco Domingo FG-27 All Solid Classical Guitar, Rosewood
Average Reviews:

This guitar is light weight, and very easy to play. But it has construction issues. Although the action is low, the saddle is so tall that the strings have to make a very sharp turn at the end. This makes you wonder how long the strings can last. The sound bridge is not properly glued to the sound board, and there is a small seam/gap between them. The treble is much better than my old all laminate guitar, but the bass is about the same. I returned this guitar.

Just look at the headstock!!!!! ....the name Gibson is backwards...this is a otherwise a perfect copy of a Les paul Studio left handed....do you research and verify this item ...If the picture is what you get then this is not a Gibson.....and definitely not worth this price....good luck....Burton Whaley

Originally designed as a model for studio artists but adopted wholeheartedly by countless players of all stripes, the Les Paul Studio combines stripped-down appointments with the full tonal splendor and unrivaled playability of a Les Paul Standard at a significant financial savings. All the elements of the legendary Les Paul Standard are still there, including that fat and sweet maple-and-mahogany tone through two genuine Gibson humbucking pickups. By eliminating a little of the window dressing--namely, building the guitar without binding around the body top or fingerboard, and applying an elegant gold silkscreened logo in place of an inlay--the Les Paul Studio weighs in at a price that players have found irresistible for three decades. And it all looks great, naturally, in your choice of four hand-sprayed nitrocellulose finishes: Wine Red, Ebony Black, Alpine White or Fire Burst (Ebony and Wine Red also available left-handed).

Chambered Mahogany Body
The body of each Les Paul Studio is crafted from chambered mahogany, joined to a solid carved maple top with ultra-strong Franklin Titebond 50 glue. These classic tonewoods have yielded some of the most legendary sounds in the history of rock.

Mahogany is a medium-dense wood with excellent resonance and superior sustain, and it offers a rich, round, warm tone, but with plenty of high-end sheen and good mid-range presence. Add a solid maple top, and the guitar's tone is enhanced with added clarity, sustain and definition. The body's chambering also enhances its mellow acoustic resonance, and adds further air to the midrange content.

Set Mahogany Neck
The neck of the Les Paul Studio is constructed from solid mahogany, cut using the superior "quarter sawn" orientation for improved strength and resonance. The angled, classical-style peg head and mahogany neck work together to provide exceptional tonal richness and resonance from the neck, with a good string definition and sustain.

Gibson uses what is known as the Mortis & Tenon joint to bind neck to body so that the two pieces form one solid unit. This time-tested technique has been used for millennia in all the great woodworking arts--from shipbuilding to cabinetry--to create one solid wood unit from two separate sections, and has been proven to yield a stronger neck and body than if the instrument was made from a single piece of wood.
The Les Paul Studio carries two of Gibson's most popular humbucking pickups, a 498T in the bridge position and a 490R in the neck.

Ovation Celebrity Standard Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar Honeyburst Review

Ovation Celebrity Standard Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar Honeyburst
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this guitar for about two months now. My first Ovation! I love the sound. It is clear, bright and when amplified totally blows away my Washburn. The thin neck took a bit of getting used to but now I am quite comfortable.
As for the "round back" complaint (guitar slips while seated), I hardly pay attention. I don't use a strap and now I naturally just slipe the guitar back into position while I play. I don't even notice anymore!
Great guitar. I am very satified.

Schecter Omen-6 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black, Left Handed) Review

Schecter Omen-6 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black, Left Handed)

The schecter omen 6 is a great instrument. The fixed bridge makes changing the strings much easier than other guitars. The guitar sounds great distorted and has a decent clean sound. For the price this is a fantastic instrument. Its very sturdy and durable. I've owned this guitar for 5 years and it still plays just like the day I bought it. I've upgraded to a Gibson SG since purchasing this guitar but it is still one of the best deals around for a guitarist who wants to play more rock or metal. It has a sleek simple look and plays like a champ.

Dean VX Solid Body Left Handed Electric Guitar, Classic Black Review

Dean VX Solid Body Left Handed Electric Guitar, Classic Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm an experienced guitar player, and i've been playing for 3 years now i started out with a left handed Ibanez and boy i had some ups and downs with it. this guitar is awesome as a beginner's guitar because it's a flying V that you can afford, what else do you need? i ordered it through amazon with the prime special so it came the next day and one thing i noticed is the packaging it self which kind off upset me because when i bought my second guitar online the people i ordered it from put extra boxes and padding to insure that it wont get damage, and this guitar came with no said padding just the box and that's it. the guitar itself looks great and the pickups are a good bunch but from me i use a lot of mids and highs and that's where they fall short on, however they're really good nonetheless. the neck is AMAZING for a bolt on construction, i have pretty big hands and the neck is small fits perfectly on my palm and plays fast as well (you'll love the unfinished neck it makes play much more smoother). the hardware is basic two volumes top being for neck pick up, the middle bridge and the last one tone. one thing i noticed as well when i remove the guitar from the box is that the toggle switch was loose, but tighten it back up and don't even notice the crack much. also be warned, the guitar won't come tuned but the strings are fine for factory. last flaw i found is when she's plugged up is from time to time if you're not careful the jack will pop itself out especially if you have your chord running through your strap (this prevents you from tripping over the wire or pulling it yourself). however this only happens when you sit down and play it or standing up and having it sitting on your leg. the tuners are awesome i've always like grover tuners these babies keep your guitar tuned.
as the title said it'll grow with you as you start your guitar playing, as an experience player i find that this guitar works and can be used for experienced players as well. as for the pick ups like i said they're aren't for me they're a bit muffle but you can get some pretty good clean tones from the bridge but the neck fails in that part. i'd use them if you're a blues or classic 70s or 80s rock sound. if pickups are your concern i'd recommend seymour duncans i got them on both my guitars (distortion mayhem set on one and the hot rodded set on the other).
you can't go wrong with this guitar and i hope my review of it helps you in buying this great guitar. now come get your wings!
