(More customer reviews)I have owned Martin and Larrivee dreadnoughts but have been playing jazz on an archtop for the last few years. I wanted to get back to playing some of my old material on a smaller acoustic which did not feel like wrestling with an elephant. This guitar is at least the equal of the expensive ones I have owned, with no dull spots on the fretboard; the tone is rich and sustained throughout. It strums as well as it picks. The finish is immaculate. Two minor quibbles: the headstock is a bit small and the tuner layout cramped, and I would probably have increased the string spacing by 1/32. I put on a set of 11-50s (slightly lighter than the 11-52s it came with) and had to tweak the truss rod a bit. I may have the bridge saddle filed down 1/64 depending on what happens with the changes of weather and humidity. You could spend $2000 and not get a better OOO than this.

Schecter Royal Acoustic Guitar (Sunburst) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this guitar because I really like Schecter Guitars. I own a C1 Exotic and a Robin Fink Ultra already. I would put either one up against an American Strat or an American Les Paul any day of the week, hands down. It was this experience that swayed me to buy a Royal, but these acoustic guitars are absolute garbage.
The first one I received has a crack leading from the sound hole towards the neck of the guitar. The replacement that was sent to me had a bad case of neck warp that a luthier said made it impossible to overcome the horrible string buzz from frets 10 - 15. Being that Amazon sent me the only Royals they had in stock at that point made me decide to return the second one and not give it a third try though Amazon customer service was very responsive and helpful.
This guitar, and I imagine the Orleans model as well, are made in China as opposed to Korea like their electric guitars. I believe that this is the reason for the craftmanship that I can only compare to a piece of junk that you would buy at a department store for $50. The only good thing about it is the Fishman pick up that sounded great.
Don't buy this.

(More customer reviews)12 String Guitar came and was unplayable. Strings 1/2 buzzed on all frets. Called Amazon immediately, they were prompt in getting the the return lable to me. Said a new one would be shipped out immediately. Arrival date came and went. Amazon said they were out of the guitar although website showed they had three avaialbe. No response from customer service on the matter. Claimed a 10 day wait for refund, recieved refund in 3 days.

Blueridge BR-40CE Contemporary Dreadnaught Cutaway Guitar with Fishman Classic 4T Pickup Review

(More customer reviews)...and it is the acoustic/electric cutaway "cousin" of the Blueridge BR-40 Contemporary Dreadnaught Guitar.
I have seen/played this model prior to purchasing it; the quality & craftsmanship on this guitar are high-quality...and it rings like a bell, with or without amplification. Things like:
- a tight-grained solid spruce top
- a rosewood bridge
- a bone nut and saddle
- an East Indian rosewood fingerboard
- a carved mahogany neck with a dovetail neck joint
- mahogany back and sides
- vintage-style quality open-back tuners
are just some of the impressive details.
One downside: In the recent past, this model has been sold with the Saga Golden Gate hardshell case included (most online retailers sold it that way). Apparently this has changed, since the one I just received came without...which was a disappointment for 2 reasons:
- it's good protection for when the guitar is shipped (shipping w/o a case is rolling the dice in my experience)
- it provides ongoing protection (especially for humidity control) once in your home or when traveling.
There had previously been an image depicting the case along with the guitar, which has since been removed; Amazon still indicates a shipping weight of 25 pounds, which is what the guitar & case weigh together...but this must have been an oversight.
If a case had been included...as it has typically been in the past...I would have given it a 5-star rating, which I almost never do in my reviews.
I'd recommend using an included case or gig bag as a pre-requisite for any online guitar purchase, since UPS & Fed-X don't generally have the word "fragile" in their dictionaries.

(More customer reviews)i got this guitar on sale and when it arrived there was no sound from the bridge pickup. shaking it about a little fixed it....not a good sign but i got a good deal so i kept it. it sounds awesome and plays like guitars costing 3 times as much. i'm very happy with my purchase. i've been playing for 20 years and this one is a keeper.

Koch MTII50-C Multitone II, 3-channels, 50W, 2 x EL34, 2 x 12 Combo Guitar Amp Review

(More customer reviews)I won't go into all the features but this amp is very versitile. It really does do really good cleans and the higher gain channel is not overly saturated and with just gain adjustsments it can go from a mild overdrive to full on distortion. Add a good overdrive pedal pushing the front end and this amp will do great full on modern metal.
The secret weapon on this amp is the mid shift on the gain channel. In the up position the mid control controls the upper mids and does the more vintage Marshall style tones and feel. with the control in the bottom position it drops the mid control to the low mids and it does the california tones. So it really is pretty cool.
The only thing is that this amp can produce a strident very high top with the speaker dampening to loose.. I would recomend you install Celestion Greenbacks in these newer models.. ( old ones I've seen originally had greenbacks ).
Beautiful style ( love the reflective grill cloth ).
