B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warlock Electric Guitar Onyx Review

Both my son and I own this guitar. Well actually, I own the original 1983 NJ with all of the active electronics special switches and the Kahler tremolo. Mine was made by the master craftsmen in Nagoya Japan, hence the model NJ. My son owns the new one, made in Korea. Although they do not sound alike, the new one is well made and worth every penny. Honestly, the Korean guitar makers are really good right now. Although the pickups are stock BC Rich made, the guitar sounds deep and punchy. It feels wonderful and plays like a dream. The action is so low (1/32nd at the 24th fret). We took it to Hobbs at Union Grove Music in Santa Cruz to have it set up with low action and 11-52 GHS strings. Hobbs is the BOMB!!! The finish is really high quality. It is probably between 3/64th and and 1/32nds thick. It is not headstock heavy, but it is not a light guitar. I honestly feel that it compares to the quality of the originals and the USA BC Rich guitars, too.

B.C. Rich Kerry King V Generation 2 Guitar, Two Toned Tribal Design over Fire Review

B.C. Rich Kerry King V Generation 2 Guitar, Two Toned Tribal Design over Fire
Average Reviews:

This guitar was the fourth guitar I bought. At first, I thought it as a entry level guitar. But after playing for a couple of times it blew me away. I have an Ibanez XPT700XH and a Marshall 1000W tower amp. I tried to compare the sound quality and pick up's performance , I was shocked to hear the BC rich produce more powerful heavy sounds than the Ibanez. Thus, if your a metal freak like me this guitar is good for shredding and sweeping but for recording and stuff, this is not the guitar to look for.
For: Graphics, volume and tone adjusters , value for money and the most important part: The Looks and the whammy bar.
Against: Plastic Humbuckers , No fret inlay stickers like the advanced series ,only some dots above(that would have made it look cooler). Body quality-A bit heavy and its made in china.
All in all a badass guitar to add to your collection. For metal: BC Rich. For pro: Ibanez. (I am not a pro)

Washburn Idol Series WI64BK Electric Guitar Review

Washburn Idol Series WI64BK Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This particular higher-end permutation of the popular Idol series offers very solid features for an instrument at this price point. The Buzz Feiten tuning system--coupled with the 18:1 Grover machine heads-- virtually guarantees perfect intonation and ease of tuning, and the VCC knobs (in place of standard tone controls) has the overall effect of both a tone control and coil splitter, with the zero setting offering sparkling single-coil, Strat-like clarity with the noiselessness of a humbucker. Cranking to 10 produces high-gain, classic humbucker sounds, and experimenting with any in-between combination with either or both of the two VCC knobs can produce a decent replication of virtually any other pickup sound you'd possibly want, from P-90's to lipsticks. The neck is fast and smooth, though a bit narrow for some players.
The only glaring flaw is the lack of good finish workmanship, and trading off stellar performance for cheaper (albeit relatively unimportant) parts. The three-way pickup selector switch on my brand new (at the time)guitar broke off at the tip after about a week (easily replaced for a couple of dollars at the local Guitar Center) and the nut at the output jack worked itself almost completely off in about the same amount of time. Several screws (truss rod cover, pickup mountings and elsewhere) were similarly loose and had to be snugged down
For playability and versatility at this price, you really can't do much better. This thing was an Guitar World Editor's Choice for "Best Guitar under $1000" the year it debuted back in 2004 or 2005. If slightly higher quality hardware had been used and setup finish had been properly done, this guitar would be close to perfect.

B.C. Rich Warlock Revenge Electric Guitar, White Review

BC Riches are known for their wild styles, and they may not be for everyone, but the Warlock is a classic, almost iconic design, and this Revenge model stands out in a crowd and demands attention. It is truly a beautiful instrument, and the widow headstock is like a crown on a beautiful queen.
No Floyd Rose tremelo setup on this baby, it has a set bridge and is ready to rock straight up. Whether you are a lead or a rhythm player, this axe will give you everything you need. To me, the most important thing about a guitar is the action. This guitar was ready to go right out of the store. A quick tune-up of the strings and this thing was a weapon. It is not as heavy or cumbersome as the BC Rich Beast can be, it feels very comfortable while either sitting or standing. The classic twin humbuckers give you a warm tone and a rich sound. This guitar straight up rocks. One of my best guitar purchases in the last 5 years.

B.C. Rich Kerry King Signature V Guitar, Black with Original Tribal Graphic Review

B.C. Rich Kerry King Signature V Guitar, Black with Original Tribal Graphic

I love this guitar!
It exceeded my expectations in every way. Where to start?
This neck-through design, shape, and feel of the guitar is amazing. The neck construction is very tight and smooth. Binding would just get in the way. Its very smooth.
The frets and action on this guitar are low and fast. I love low action, and the Kerry King Signature V didn't disappoint. It so easy to hit harmonics when you want to, and the size of the frets are perfect for speed.
The abalone tribal inlays were one of the biggest surprises of the guitar. They are high quality abalone shaped in the KK tribal pattern and are very colorful when the light hits them. The pictures don't do them justice.
The best part of the neck, beside the headstock that just looks demonic in real-life, is the ebony fretboard. I've always been very picky on the fretboards I play on and was concerned about some other Ebony fretboards I've seen. However, it is simply AMAZING on this guitar. The Ebony is smooth, no discoloration, and the perfect curve for playing fast. Bright when you want it, chunky when you need it. I just can't get over how happy I am with the ebony fretboard.
The sound of the guitar is pure evil. Fast and heavy. It has a deep growl that you can feel pushing air when you play on a half-stack. Between the EMG pickups, the Kahler tremolo, and my personal favorite, the PA2 preamp, you can get some insane heavy sounds.
The PA2 preamp is great. It gives a 20db boost and when you hit it on, you can hold a note in a long sustain pretty much forever. Its perfect for over-the-top solos.
The look is amazing. Again, the picture don't do it justice. The guitar I received had a black Kahler tremolo instead of the chrome one you see in the pictures. I didn't specifically ask for a black, maybe that's how they're all made now. However, it gives it a much harder look. I haven't had any issue with the tremolo after restringing with 10 gauge and down-tuning a 1/2 step. The beveled edges give it a more white outline look to it in the pictures, its much darker looking in normal light.
Again, the sound is awesome.
I really just can't get over how cool this guitar is. I'll admit, I'm a SLAYER fan, and if you want that same heavy, evil sound... this is the guitar.

B.C. Rich Kerry King Metal Master V Generation 2 Guitar, Black with Tribal Graphic Review

I bought this on a lark when it showed up as a Gold Box deal one day for half its normal price. I've long had a hankering for a V-shaped guitar ever since having my mind bent by Michael Schenker and his Gibson Flying V with UFO circa 1982, and this seemed like a good opportunity to finally feed that Jones.
This made-in-China BC Rich is cosmetically quite nice. The high gloss finish is pristine, the tribal graphic is flashy without quite crossing the line to gaudy, the chrome is shiny, the many pointy corners arrived unchipped, and the frets are reasonably well-dressed. The only minor quibble I have with appearance is the mild splotchiness of the rosewood fretboard.
Functionally, however, this guitar feels decidedly mediocre for the following reasons:
- The action was buzzy on the low E, though that was easily fixed by raising the bridge a bit.
- The intonation, on the other hand, could not quite be dialed in -- I cannot simultaneously get both the high and low strings intonated correctly. I had to set the bridge to a compromise position where neither the high strings nor low strings are exactly right.
- The tuners are mediocre at keeping the guitar in tune from session to session.
- The BDSM (that's Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched, you perverts) humbuckers' tone is quite unremarkable, and there is not much difference between the neck and bridge pickups. That in combination with the single tone control means there is not a very broad range of tones possible with this guitar. I suppose BC Rich assumed that this guitar would only be played through heavy distortion effects, and that this wouldn't be a serious drawback.
Had I paid full price for this guitar, I'd probably feel pretty grumpy every time I looked at it. At its Gold Box price, however, I'm pretty happy to just look at this pretty piece of eye candy hanging on the wall. Fortunately, I have several better guitars to pick up for actually playing.

Dean Vendetta 3.0 Electric Guitar, Classic Black Review

Dean Vendetta 3.0 Electric Guitar, Classic Black
Average Reviews:

Being a first time Amazon customer, I was a little apprehensive ordering a high ticket item at such a spectacular price on line. The item, a Dean Vendetta 3.0 electric guitar, arrived in a very timely manner and undamaged. As Dean has a very good reputation for quality workmanship, I had high expectations for this axe, and Dean didn't let me down. The monochromatic black onyx finish is down right sexy.Beautifully faired and polished, it resembles a grand piano finish. But the stunning looks were just a prelude to the well balanced tone, awesome sustain, features, and playability that even makes me sound good. Vendetta is truly a versatile guitar that can be dialed in to be fat, meaty, clean,or mean. Simply put, it can sing like an angel, or scream like a demon.
I personally own two Epiphones, an Ibanez, and a Fender, and have played everything from Hagstom to Hamiltone guitars. But I'm so impressed with this Dean Vendetta, my next guitar purchase will surly be another Dean.
As far as my first experience with Amazon,I've placed 14 more orders since this one, enough said.
Rock n Roll,
Mark
