This guitar was the fourth guitar I bought. At first, I thought it as a entry level guitar. But after playing for a couple of times it blew me away. I have an Ibanez XPT700XH and a Marshall 1000W tower amp. I tried to compare the sound quality and pick up's performance , I was shocked to hear the BC rich produce more powerful heavy sounds than the Ibanez. Thus, if your a metal freak like me this guitar is good for shredding and sweeping but for recording and stuff, this is not the guitar to look for.
For: Graphics, volume and tone adjusters , value for money and the most important part: The Looks and the whammy bar.
Against: Plastic Humbuckers , No fret inlay stickers like the advanced series ,only some dots above(that would have made it look cooler). Body quality-A bit heavy and its made in china.
All in all a badass guitar to add to your collection. For metal: BC Rich. For pro: Ibanez. (I am not a pro)

I love this guitar!
It exceeded my expectations in every way. Where to start?
This neck-through design, shape, and feel of the guitar is amazing. The neck construction is very tight and smooth. Binding would just get in the way. Its very smooth.
The frets and action on this guitar are low and fast. I love low action, and the Kerry King Signature V didn't disappoint. It so easy to hit harmonics when you want to, and the size of the frets are perfect for speed.
The abalone tribal inlays were one of the biggest surprises of the guitar. They are high quality abalone shaped in the KK tribal pattern and are very colorful when the light hits them. The pictures don't do them justice.
The best part of the neck, beside the headstock that just looks demonic in real-life, is the ebony fretboard. I've always been very picky on the fretboards I play on and was concerned about some other Ebony fretboards I've seen. However, it is simply AMAZING on this guitar. The Ebony is smooth, no discoloration, and the perfect curve for playing fast. Bright when you want it, chunky when you need it. I just can't get over how happy I am with the ebony fretboard.
The sound of the guitar is pure evil. Fast and heavy. It has a deep growl that you can feel pushing air when you play on a half-stack. Between the EMG pickups, the Kahler tremolo, and my personal favorite, the PA2 preamp, you can get some insane heavy sounds.
The PA2 preamp is great. It gives a 20db boost and when you hit it on, you can hold a note in a long sustain pretty much forever. Its perfect for over-the-top solos.
The look is amazing. Again, the picture don't do it justice. The guitar I received had a black Kahler tremolo instead of the chrome one you see in the pictures. I didn't specifically ask for a black, maybe that's how they're all made now. However, it gives it a much harder look. I haven't had any issue with the tremolo after restringing with 10 gauge and down-tuning a 1/2 step. The beveled edges give it a more white outline look to it in the pictures, its much darker looking in normal light.
Again, the sound is awesome.
I really just can't get over how cool this guitar is. I'll admit, I'm a SLAYER fan, and if you want that same heavy, evil sound... this is the guitar.

I bought this on a lark when it showed up as a Gold Box deal one day for half its normal price. I've long had a hankering for a V-shaped guitar ever since having my mind bent by Michael Schenker and his Gibson Flying V with UFO circa 1982, and this seemed like a good opportunity to finally feed that Jones.
This made-in-China BC Rich is cosmetically quite nice. The high gloss finish is pristine, the tribal graphic is flashy without quite crossing the line to gaudy, the chrome is shiny, the many pointy corners arrived unchipped, and the frets are reasonably well-dressed. The only minor quibble I have with appearance is the mild splotchiness of the rosewood fretboard.
Functionally, however, this guitar feels decidedly mediocre for the following reasons:
- The action was buzzy on the low E, though that was easily fixed by raising the bridge a bit.
- The intonation, on the other hand, could not quite be dialed in -- I cannot simultaneously get both the high and low strings intonated correctly. I had to set the bridge to a compromise position where neither the high strings nor low strings are exactly right.
- The tuners are mediocre at keeping the guitar in tune from session to session.
- The BDSM (that's Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched, you perverts) humbuckers' tone is quite unremarkable, and there is not much difference between the neck and bridge pickups. That in combination with the single tone control means there is not a very broad range of tones possible with this guitar. I suppose BC Rich assumed that this guitar would only be played through heavy distortion effects, and that this wouldn't be a serious drawback.
Had I paid full price for this guitar, I'd probably feel pretty grumpy every time I looked at it. At its Gold Box price, however, I'm pretty happy to just look at this pretty piece of eye candy hanging on the wall. Fortunately, I have several better guitars to pick up for actually playing.

Dean V Dave Mustaine Guitar, Bolt-on Classic Black Review

Dean V Dave Mustaine Guitar, Bolt-on Classic Black

I used to play guitar years ago. I had never gotten truly proficient, but I knew a number of songs and wasn't bad at playing them. The problem was, I never really felt like I could play the stuff I listened to - Metallica, Megadeth, etc. Now, after about 8 or 9 years of not having a guitar (pawned off all of the guitars I had over the years, in needing to pay bills - never again!), I decided to pick up a guitar - one that would inspire me to learn some of my favorite songs ("The Thing That Should Not Be" and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", for example.)
While I didn't buy this guitar from Amazon (I want to be able to hold and play an instrument before buying it), I'm quite happy that I did buy it. It may be the "low end" of the Dave Mustaine signature series but, as far as I can tell, there's nothing lacking other than a few frills like upgraded inlays and custom paint jobs.
I've had my guitar for about a week now and I can't put it down. I've yet to find anything wrong with it or anything to complain about, save for the positioning of the strap buttons - one is right behind the neck, where it bolts on to the body, and the other is on the underside of the "top" leg of the V. A little difficult to get used to if you're used to strat-styles, but still pretty comfortable. I don't know if I'll ever be able to truly shred out some of the solos in some of the songs I want to learn, but I do know that I'll enjoy trying while playing this guitar. :D
