I was looking for a certain sound. I've been a pro musician for over 10 years now and knew exactly what I was looking for. The Dean Custom Run Razorback Transblack is limited to 100 produced and is the only Razorback I've seen that does not have the "D.I.M.E" logo stenciled on the head. Mine is #56 of 100. Pickups are the EMG 81/85 combo and it has the Afterburner circuit, which is like a solo switch with -20db gain. Tone is amazing for metal and cleans up nicely for just about any other type of music. The set v-neck is amongst my favorite features as it sets well in my hand. The Floyd Rose works as it should, regardless of its "status" (original, licensed, ripped-off, who knows...) and any decent guitar player should be able to keep it as in-tune as possible without being a hard-tail. Tuners are a gunmetal color which suits the color scheme perfectly. It comes with a hard case, which is necessary and huge (roadies think it is my keyboard!). It is a pretty heavy guitar and you are likely to skewer your band mates with its spikes as you wield it around like a battle axe, but it makes for a better stage show!
The Transblack color is awesome. Black is just black, many of the Razorback models are a bit "busy" for my advanced age, and this guitar has me looking for others with a similar finish. Dean makes a Vendetta Transblack and PRS makes a 7 string in Transblack that would both look sick sitting next to this one.
USA Razorbacks such as the Rebel and Rust Tribute are upwards of $4K and do not have the EMGs. If you are in the market for a pro level guitar and haven't considered the DCR Transblack, do yourself a favor and try one out. You'll be impressed.
