I bought mine pretty mint in a pawn shop with custom hardcase for $450. No way I would pay $805 for this unit. Although it has a lot going for it - resinator fretboard, Hagstrom H-truss, Hagstrom Bigsby style tremelo, staircase tuner keys, tone switch, it is still an Asian Les Paul at heart.
The tone switch is nothing more than putting a capacitor or two in the circuit, which only cuts frequencies and a couple db in the process. I leave mine in bypass. The buckers are just fine. So it comes down to the Hagstrom version of the Bigsby, which you end up paying about $250 for over an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus. The roller bridge is a good thing, helping tuning greatly even with big dips on the whammy handle. But I don't know if it's worth it. If you want that slightly unique Hagstrom name, AND a Bigsby, this is for you. If you want the Les Paul sound and a Les Paul body with a quality Asian made guitar, also look at Epiphone and Samick. You just might save a few hundred dollars.
