I was very disapointed. This Bass was not only damaged but it was not of the quality that it should had been. I returned the Bass the next day and after many emails finally got my refund. I'll not buy an instrument again on line and would not recomend to anyone.

Washburn Acoustic/Electric Series AB40VSK Acoustic-Electric Bass Review

To start off the Bass that is pictured is not the Bass you will recieve. That is the old AB40 Bass the new Bass is the standard version of the Stu Hamm Bass. The standard version has the sound hole slots not a round open hole the neck has dot abalone inlays and a vintage style teardrop tobacco sunburst finish. The neck of this bass has a very electric bass guitar feel to it somewhere inbetween a PBASS and a JBASS, very smooth and fast feeling.
Action, Finish, and build quality are top notch. Solid Spruce top Figured maple back I do believe the back and sides are laminated but not sure. Now as some one who has been playing bass for 35+ years and has had the Tacoma, Ibanez, and Breedlove acoustic basses this bass is the most comfortable to play the drawback is the way the Bridge is attached this bass has an individuale saddle and piezo pickup for each string yes this bass is intonatable throughout the entire neck and the action is ajustable that is something that makes this bass great. But with with this type of bridge there is some give and take. The bass unpluged is not very loud it is loud enough for private practice but you must plug into an amp the reason for this is because by having the type of bridge Washburn put on this bass they had to add a block of wood that is glued to the top and back of the body, this makes the bridge more stable but it interfears with the free movement of the top soundboard. That being said I have never played a acoustic bass that was loud enough to play along with an acoustic six string. Pluged in this bass sounds great it still has that acoustic sound and it has individual pickup level controles on the back of the bass so you can really dial in the best sound for your needs. In closing if you are looking for a really nice acoustic bass that is intonatable slim profile body and smooth playing neck this bass will not disapoint you. Breedlove Atlas Solo BJ350/CM4 Fretless Acoustic Electric Bass Review

I have been playing bass on-and-off for about 20 years and this bass is, without a doubt, the best I've ever owned. Upon receiving it, I immediately changed the roundwound strings it came with to Fender stainless steel flatwounds and that was it. It feels great and the tone sounds beautiful when jamming. Comes with a heavy duty hardshell case.
I can't say enough good things about this bass and I highly recommend it.
