This speaker is fantastic. I bought two of them for my mobile DJ set and I have been more than pleased. Although not cheap, the 12" subwoofer will shake houses and the compresser is great. Sometime when the bass is extra loud it will overtake the compressor but who can complain about too much bass. The multi imputs are great for my setup with RCA, XLR, speak-on and 1/4", it really is impossible to find a way not to hook these up. And I use the link output to link my two together so I do not have to run a second RCA from my DJ mixer. I will note that the linked speaker seems to be a bit quieter than the one receiving the signal, but that can be easily fixed by messing with the knobs. Also, these speakers are LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD! I am fearful to turn them all the way up, and I am not shy about loud music. The LED indicator that flashes bright yellow when you are peaking is really nice. Got it to flicker once. Flashing means you are getting close, and solid means you are in trouble. The EV symbol on the front lights up which is a cool feature. There is a standard tripod mount on the bottoms of these.
cons: they are a bit heavy, but for 1000watt amp built in, I was suprised. Plus they have a really nice handle to hold on to. Also the button to activate imput 2 from a line to a mic is very small and the 1 time I had to use it, I needed a paperclip or something similar in size to push it all the way in. But not a big deal to me and got over it.
Overall: If you are a mobile performer and don't mind the price and need an awesome loudspeaker, your long search is over!

JBL PRX612M 1x12 2-Way 1000 -Watt Powered Loudspeaker, Single Speaker Review

Overall, I'd like to give these bad boys a solid 4.5 star rating. JBL has really come a long way with the 600 series. Allow me to give some history and then review the PRX612m.
I purchased two of these units for a mobile DJ setup. Keyword here is MOBILE, and I was looking for a speaker that satisfied a few requirements. Here is what you get with this guy:
- Almost effortless setup - the amp is built into the speaker, so no need to pair with other amps or spend more money.
- Multiple uses out of the box, use it as a main PA speaker, monitor, wedge monitor(not so great for this, more on this later) and pair it with a standalone line mixer or use the volume control on the speaker itself.
- Dual Pole Mount - Naturally these guys should be pole mounted and any height around 7-10 feet is great. Now if you are trying to get these to spread out then you can mount them in the traditional setting in which they are perfectly level on the pole and facing outward. However, on this model there is a second setting (built in, no need to do any adjustments) which allows you to angle the speaker downward. I've found this particularly amazing when using this for a short-throw dance floor speaker, or even as a background speaker for seated/dinner music.
- Lightweight - The speaker comes in under 35lbs. I mean 1000 watts with a professional (not carpeted) casing - you really can't go wrong.
- Clarity of Sound - This is actually very important. All the other things don't matter squat if the sound coming out of your speakers is not clear. This speaker has extremely clear sound from the horn, and very tight & controlled bass. Of course it is not going to give you the same bass that an 18" sub will, and if you want that then simply pair it w/ the subwoofer as I do. However, the bass on this unit is extremely substantial for a unit that is so small. You can definitely feel the bass when in close proximity, and when paired with a standalone sub - the sound/feel is incredible.
- Excellent Headroom - So far I've been running these guys at 1/2 power (12 o clock on the volume dial) and running my sound board at about 30%. They really hold it down. When you need to squeeze a little extra juice out of them - they give it to you without becoming muffled, muddy or distorted. This is a big plus for those times you really need to go that extra mile.
So here are some important tidbits that you should know before purchasing these. As any piece of technology will have it's shortcomings, so do these (but I am really nitpicking here). These guys perform best when pole-mounted. I feel the best mounting height is 7-10 feet. Higher is better if you want to mount the speaker angled downward. I use the Ultimate Support stands which are rock solid and these are so lightweight you really don't need a super heavy duty stand. I've put 90lbs monsters on the ultimate stands and they hold nicely. With these speakers you have to be careful how you use them as a monitor. I've found that if you put them directly on the floor (in the wedge position), they are not going to work so good if you are close up (kind of like how a singer is on stage). If you are about 12 feet away, the throw of the speaker is pretty good - but if possible, these should be pole mounted, or at least wedged on a table which is around 3-4 feet off the ground. I am 6' tall so these are the measurements that I like when using these as a monitor. This will vary for others. That is really the only critique I can offer, as I feel everything else is better than could be expected and I am really enjoying these speakers. So far I've run them a few times for around 6-8 hours at a time and they run strong, smooth and are very reliable.
I am sure you will enjoy them if you get them. I've noticed that a few people have had problems with the units being defective or not working properly. Thankfully, I haven't had any problem. I purchased these new through Guitar Center, and immediately put them in the JBL fitted cover to keep them protected. If you do order online, I would strongly suggest doing it directly through Amazon or an authorized seller who you know will cover you if the unit comes damaged in the mail. Amazon is exceptionally good for those things, so I make it a point to always check their prices before I purchase elsewhere. Obviously sending a 40lbs box through the mail can sometimes mess things up regardless of the amount of padding around the speaker. I've had bad experiences with shipping companies as well.
Product wise - a solid 4.5. JBL hit a homerun with this speaker!

JBL JRX125 500-watt Dual 15-Inch Two-Way Portable Loudspeaker Review

I have owned a pair of JRX125's for over 2 and one half years. I drive them with a Rotel 1092 amp that bullishy delivers 1000 watts per channel into the efficient 4 ohm JRX125...they can handle 2000 watts RMS continuously. My preamp is an NAD Master Series M3 dual mono integrated preamp. I am not a JBl biased guy, I became one after destroying countless sets of loudspekers that came with a ferrari price tag, piano wood polished...veneer, and rave reviews from magazines. I talked to some gigging muscians to see what they used in their own home. They all advised that if you have a good amp with enough wattage, buy JBL pro audio loudspeakers. I ended up purchasing the same speakers that the band just finished performing a live concert with, the JRX125s. Whew...they blew the doors off of any loudspeakers I have ever owned. Flatteringly bloomy sound with plenty of headroom, air, and a soundstage that can reach the corners of our 80 acre ranch... from my living room. Yet the sublty to reproduce Maria Carey crystal-cracking highs that are candy for the ears. I just finished DJing my own wedding with the JRX125s and the same gear mentioned. I received countless comments on how awesome the sound quality was. Almost every concert you have ever attended was powered by JBL gear, why, because JBL and their subsidiaries make the best pro audio gear period. Thank you JBL for solving all of my loudspeaker problems.
