Line 6 James Tyler Variax JTV-89 Modeling Electric Guitar; Black Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This is just one of the three models in this new series of Line 6 guitars. The other models are: Model 69 (Strat-style body) & Model 59 (Les Paul style body). This specific model is exactly as described and designed with speed players, Metal players, etc. in mind...BUT it CAN be a guitar for ANY STYLE of music. The only difference about this guitar model other than the body style/neck design is the Alternate tuning knob.
Both the Models 69 & 59 have some open tunings and specialty tunings like DADGAD. The model 89 does not have these, but it does have FIVE alternate tunings each being on 1/2 step lower than the other with accompanying Drop "D" tunings with each 1/2 step down you go until you reach Baritone tuning which is on all models.
If you prefer a neck that is similar to an Ibanez or Jackson (thin, wide, flat radius, & very fast action), then this is the model James Tyler Variax for you whatever style of music you play.
And one other bit of information perhaps most readers of this review might not know...the electronics in ALL James Tyler Variax guitars from the magnetic pick-ups to the internal modeling "guts" are identical in all models including all USA versions which are much more expensive. The USA versions come in a wider range of finish choices, and can only be purchased through retailers that can special order them from Line 6. I hope this review and extra information helps anyone interested in checking one of these Line 6 guitars out.
