This is the biggest purchase I have made in Amazon, and let me tell you, I have not bad memories in two years that I have purchused with this company, but I have my doubts in this one (not from the service that Amazon has always provide, but for the fear of buying on internet something amounting 1,000 dollars), so I was a little nervous because it`s a great distance from Mexico City, but believe me, I have purchased tiny little things and this was not tiny, so my eyes stayed wide open when it took Amazon only 4 days to leave this guitar in my house door, so I can tell that Amazon made everything possible because they are professionals and they do care about the customers, always trying to satisfy them. Amazing service and I`m enjoy the great sound of this guitar.
A big thanx for you Amazon!!!!

Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Midnight Ebony Review

Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Midnight Ebony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love the sound of a Les Paul, but I refused to buy one because having been a Strat player for years, I just felt that LP's were uncomfortable to play. This Les Paul addresses the two major factors in why a traditional LP is uncomfortable:
#1, Weight. Ever pick up a real LP? They weight a ton and by the end of a show, your shoulder and lower back are killing you. This thing is super light! The acoustic chambers make it essentially a hollow-body. I'm not sure what the actual weight is, but it's significantly lighter than a solid body LP, but sounds the same (actually better with the piezo).
#2, Body Contours. I don't have a huge belly, but the sharp corners on regular LP's cut into my gut and just aren't comfortable. This guy has a nice body contour in it, so it's really quite comfortable.
The neck has some kind of radical "satin" finish on it that is LIGHTNING fast to play on. It's almost like a rough finish, but it's great because your hand doesn't stick to it like it would to a traditional painted finish. You just have to try it.
This thing has that LP growl that all guitar players associate with a LP. The humbuckers are phenomenal!! In my band, we play classic rock covers with a few heavier tunes thrown in. I figured this guitar would fit right in with some of the more "mild" songs, and songs that were recorded on a LP. "Hold On Loosely", "Deuce", "Life In The Fast Lane", and a couple of Journey tunes... stuff like that. This guitar certainly covers those styles perfectly. But wait... The first time I took this to practice, we started playing "Man In The Box" with a heavy overdrive, and when I hit an artificial harmonic in "G" on the low "E" string... O-M-G!!! The rest of the band members jaws all dropped and they commented that this guitar screamed like a Zakk Wylde. It's VERY responsive!! Then I dialed it back, and tried out the piezo acoustic pickup for our rendition of "Comfortably Numb". I know, shudder at the thought of playing a LP for a Pink Floyd song... The piezo acoustic sound was absolutely incredible, but then when I turned the piezo down and the humbuckers back on for the solo's, it filled the bill again!
This guitar will get you pretty much ANY tone you want (except for the buzz of a single coil). All I can say is, try it!!
There are only 2 things I don't like about this guitar, hence the 4-stars. While the body is light, the headstock isn't, and it tends to pull on the shoulder. It's just not very well balanced, so it takes some getting used to. Also, it's still tough to get to the higher frets just like any LP.
Otherwise, you get the killer LP sound with the added bonus of an acoustic, and the unexpected bonus of COMFORT! This guitar is well worth the price and I'd say it's essential to any collection. You can cover so much ground with it!

Gretsch Guitars G6199 Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Electric Guitar (Standard) Review

Gretsch Guitars G6199 Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Electric Guitar (Standard)
Average Reviews:

It seems as though everyone wants a Billy-Bo....likely because it originally was made for Bo Diddley who gave an original to Billy Gibbons of ZZ geti-up....A typical Gretsch, it plays well, stays in tune and has a robust, hearty tone. Made in Japan! MSRP is reported to be in the 3,800 range which is custom, domestic pricing and discounted down to $2,695....Problem is, it stays in perpetual backorder...I love this guitar and recommend it for pros who want to improve their sound....It dresses well even if you do not have a long beard. If you can get one,. try it first then buy...comes with a hardshell case which is beer can proof for those gigs in saloons which have no chicken wire protection! ...wish it came in other colors...

Fender American Standard P Bass V 5-String Black Maple Fretboard Review

Fender American Standard P Bass V 5-String Black Maple Fretboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is not a boutique bass by any means. It's big, deep, dark and beautiful. The E-G strings even sound a little deeper than they do on 4 stringers. The low B is tight. I have D'Addario Chrome flats on it. I bought the .050-.105 set and then the low B .132 separately. It's crazy boomy but if you pluck an inch or an inch and a half from the pickups closer to the bridge, there's a nice sweet spot where it's not too boomy and you can get a really nice fundamental. It sustains really well, too, even with flatwounds. Mine is sunburst with a rosewood fretboard, not the one pictured.
I wish the truss rod access were in the headstock, but that is just my preference. And they should give you the option of sunburst with a maple fretboard. And maybe the option of a black pickguard, too. But nobody asked me.
Pickup height really affects the sound on this bass, so take the time to get it right and even...and get the low B just a little closer to the pickup than the other strings. This is a quality instrument.

Breedlove Performance Series Bossa Nova Acoustic Guitar, Made in U.S.A. Review

Breedlove Performance Series Bossa Nova Acoustic Guitar, Made in U.S.A.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I took a gamble on this guitar given that I've never played a Breedlove nylon string guitar before ordering it. I've played Breedlove steel string guitars and have always been impressed with how they look, sound and feel so it was worth the risk. The look of the guitar is stunning and it sounds incredible as I expected. I suppose this kind of quality should be expected with a guitar at this price point, but those expectations were exceeded in my mind. One thing I didn't realize until I got it was that the pick up controls are in the sound hole so they don't have to cut a big hole in the side for the electronics which I love, because it preserves the beauty of the guitar.
If you want a more traditional looking and feeling (flat fret-board vs. slight radius) nylon string, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a more modern, very high quality nylon string guitar I would highly recommend the Breedlove Bossa Nova or the Taylor NS-74ce. It was a tough choice between those two, but I'm very glad I bought the Bossa Nova.

Dean Razorback V Guitar 25.5 Scale Black-Yellow with Case Review

Dean Razorback V Guitar 25.5 Scale Black-Yellow with Case
Average Reviews:

This is just simply a great guitar. Keep in mind the floyd rose is licensed but I have dive bombed on this guitar repeatedly and it does not go out of tune. The 255 comes with active EMG pickups. Mine is not the 255 version but the one just under it, but I know the EMG's simply scream as a fellow musicians has these pickups and they are brutal.
My Dime V came with a dimebucker but still is a very good pickup.
You may want to have the action set by a Luthier to your preference. I was able to adjust mine with some ease but I have playing quite a while. Also, do you homeowork on floyd's before you change the strings or you could be hurtin'. The bridge must be blocked before removing the strings or you will throw the whole set up off. Also, floyd's require the balls on the string to be cut before being placed into the bridge. This is not about this particular guitar, floyd's are great tremolos but you must have some basic knowledge of how they work.

Schecter Tempest Standard Electric Guitar - Vintage Gold Top Review

Schecter Tempest Standard Electric Guitar - Vintage Gold Top
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First off, I got this at a crazy price. Maybe it had sat around for a while I don't know, but the instant after I ordered it the price went back up by $130.
So, needless to say, I got a great deal. Though the current price is still a bit less than original.
I have a couple Les Paul studios('94 & '07) and a '79 Tele and this thing keeps up just fine. I play it more than anything else. I keep it in my bedroom, for learning/writing new songs, plugged into a '53 Gibson GA-5, but I've played it a lot through my Rebel 20 mini(2x12) stack, a bit through a '60s Fender Bassman and quite a lot through my only SS amp a '70s Yamaha G100. Jumpin off track, this is hands down one of the best "clean" amps I've ever played, great re-verb and tremolo, just glassy jazz goodness and totally underrated. They usually go for around $250 for head w/4x10 cab, I have the 1x15 cab and lo-ove it. Any way.
Sound:
Versatile.... That's why I like it. It's made from pretty light asian mahogany and the pickups aren't as hot as stock LPs, so it doesn't rock the screaming LP sustain, but gets pretty close and does sustain. On the flip side it's heavier than a Tele and the pickups are totally different, but with the coil tap it gets pretty close to the Tele "twang" as well. The range of sound this guitar can make, just by fiddlin the knobs, is what has made it my "go to" for foolin around. I was looking at the maple capped model, but I'm glad I went with this one. I think the added brightness and sustain would make it a lot more like an LP, but not quite as sweet and It would destroy the "twang". That said, it has a very nice sound all it's own. If you took all the adjectives you'd throw at an LP or a Tele and put "kinda" in front of them, you'd have the Schecter tempest.
Fit and finish:
Decent.... I'm a craftsman and have built a few instruments, so I see things. You'd have to look pretty hard, but you can see where the price tag comes from. Like I said, decent. The partially recessed knobs, set and bound neck, good hardware and great fretboard definitely make up for a few flaws in the paint and some obvious masking lines. I love the shape and style. There are a lot of guitars that look like an LP or a Strat and there are many that I just can't stand, but this is one of my all time favorites and I think it's even knocked the Ibanez Iceman down a notch..... well maybe.
Playability:
Outstanding.... When I get a new guitar I usually spend a few hours setting it up(a friend got a $3500 LP and then spent $130 and a week getting the frets reworked and a set-up). When this arrived at my door I got out my tools before I even opened the box. I never used 'em. I'm sure it's the same for all Schecter guitars, but this is the best set-up I've seen out of the box on any guitar, simply beautiful. Beyond that, the neck profile and finish are great, the frets are great, I love playing this guitar. It has the lowest action of any of my guitars and doesn't buzz a bit. And it stays in tune. I've put this in the hands of a number of people and they all really like it.
Bottom line:
Would I gig this? Meh... It's worthy, just not my sound for live gigs, as a backup yes.
Would I recommend it to my best friend? HELL YES!!!! And I have.
Is it worth the money? Another HELL YES!!!! This is the best "new" guitar purchase I've ever made.

Fernandes Revolver Pro 81 Electric Guitar - Snow White Review

Fernandes Revolver Pro 81 Electric Guitar - Snow White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this Fernandes Revolver Pro 81 mainly for the hyper electronics setup that provides so much sustain. I play in smaller venues at low output levels and the Pro 81 sustain setup really fills out the sound! Have tried it LOUD a few times and it is incredible at high output levels, too. The guitar itself is well-built and much lighter to wear for long periods than you would think. While others say the battery (standard 9V) does not last very long, I have found the battery drain to be modest at best; seems to last a very long time! Of course, I am using Premium batteries in it - high-dollar DuraCell or EverReady. Take the Chinese battery out when you get it; I hear they don't hold up well, and it would be bad if one started leaking all over the components and you didn't realize it until extensive damage was done! The overall workmanship is very good also; it is well-built and very sturdy. The finish is excellent (I have the Snow White finish). And of course, the sound is clear and full - super output!
If I have any reason to find fault, I must say that this particular model is only offered in 2 finishes: Snow White or Jet Black. Many of the other model Fernandes guitars have a huge variety of available choices for finishes, but for whatever reason, the Pro 81 only comes in the two I mentioned. The other thing - and this is not directed at Fernandes - is the fact that my guitar was very shabbily packaged (by Amazon) and not protected or secured for shipping as well as it should have been - for a $700.00 guitar! It appears to have arrived at my home just before the "packaging" gave up, as it literally fell out of both the ineer AND outer boxes before I could even cut the 2 strands of tape semi-holding the outer box lid closed. Thankfully, no damage was done and I am very satisfied with the Pro 81. It plays very well and sounds excellent! Highly recommended to everyone, no matter what style of music you play!

AXL Bloodsport Wavepoint Electric Guitar, Red/Black Review

AXL Bloodsport Wavepoint Electric Guitar, Red/Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Fit and finish on this guitar are excellent. Guitar arrives "set-up" from the factory. The setup is not bad, but some may wish to lower it to suit their style of play. Inlay is flawless and the neck on mine is perfectly straight.
Playability will have to be reviewed by a more accomplished musician. Good luck finding much in the way of pro reviews on the net. Very few exist. This guitar was designed for very hard rock and metal. To that end, it does sound very good in my opinion. If you don't have a distortion pedal, you will want to buy one.
I gave the product 5 stars for the price range and understanding this is a guitar designed for playing hard. Against other $300 guitars, this one can hold it's own. However, this is not a stage/gig worthy guitar. At this price-point you really can not ask for more.

I was disappointed with this guitar for the fallowing reasons.
BUZZING STRINGS, CHEAP TUNING MACHINES, and GLUE COMING UNDONE.
I only owned this guitar for about 3 months before I returned
it for a better quality guitar for about the same money RE: Washburn D10 S
The good things i found about this guitar are the fallowing:
comfortable fast neck, nice sound ,comfortable oval back and
great looks.
This Ovation CC24 Celebrity is A braced, has a lyrachord body,
cut away for upper fret access and a mid depth bowl body
for great tone.
The electronics aren't too bad, they are easy to fiddle with while
trying to play.
I would suggest the WASHBURN D10S. IT SELLS FOR AROUND THE SAME PRICE
AS THIS FOR $350.00

Hagstrom Select Ultra Swede Electric Guitar (Nordic Blond) Review

Hagstrom Select Ultra Swede Electric Guitar (Nordic Blond)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have this guitar in the left-handed model but I have seen a number of these guitars and they are fairly consistent.
First the Body:
The body is sort of a Les Paul style...but smaller. And for my taste too small. It makes me look big and I'm not very big. But the balance is fine and none of the controls get crowded nor do you feel like you're going to fall off the edge of the guitar when you're playing. Still when set against the human form there is something underwhelming about it. The body finish is very thick and low gloss. The top, while having a quality piece of wood on it, also doesn't really pop. But it looks very nice. The light wood binding all around is fitted well and finishes are...midgrade.
The Neck:
I have the most mixed feelings about the neck. The inlays are top notch. Lovely perloid and abalone. Smooth and clean. Very well done. The fret wires are another story. They seem to be raised slightly above the actual fretboard by a small but noticeable gap. The edges are not totally consistent with a couple rough terminations. Because of the wood biding on the side of the fretboard it's not a real issue. The playability is unaffected by these things and it feels very workman-like overall. The intonation is pretty on and each note rings evenly and true. Not a fast fretboard but a good one.
The Electronics:
Here's where my biggest disappointment with this guitar sits. Using the same pickup in both the neck and bridge position is almost always a terrible idea. It certainly is here wherein the output at the bridge pickup is markedly less than that of the neck pickup...no matter how much adjusting you do. Furthermore if you're going to have a coil tap switch you should place foil or copper in the electronics cavity to suppress the induced hum. It's not pronounced on this guitar. There is foil backing the plastic cavity cover. The tone knob does nothing and should never be used. The pickups themselves are serviceable but very midrange in tonal character- sort of bright and honky. The switches are good and the pots have a good resistance.
Overall:
It definitely has looks. And up close it doesn't really get much less pretty. It needs a redesign on the electronics- better pickups (matched to position), isolation from interference, and a tone knob that does something. They should tighten up the fretboard production with attention to the wires and the finish. For the money I'm split...having gotten mine for less than half it sells for on Amazon....I still don't know if it's a bargain or not. Please bear in mind my point of reference is high-end high-quality guitars...but I've played tons of crap ones too. At $600-700 these are approaching high-mids in price and don't quite measure up in that price range when it's all said and done. They're almost there and I'm sure some people will think it's a great deal and a great guitar. But I personally feel a highend epiphone or the like would be money better spent.

Luna Oracle Eclipse Acoustic/Electric Guitar Review

Luna Oracle Eclipse Acoustic/Electric Guitar is an awesome guitar for the money spent.
I have had many guitars in my lifetime and this one ranks right up their with some of the best.
The set up and action is excellent, Just a little weak on the bottom end, Fit and finish is excellent.
Fishman Pre-amp is Just OK, med level but works fine.
But if you want a great playing guitar that you don't have to baby around a large Jam Session.
It's Great, and it will keep up with most med level Taylors or Martins in a group setting.
Because this is an all solid wood instrument it can only get better with age.

T-Rex Engineering Octavius Guitar Octave Effect Pedal Review

T-Rex Engineering Octavius Guitar Octave Effect Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I play guitar in an indie-rock band that uses synth bass instead of a bass player. We felt like some songs needed a little more low end, so I shopped around for an octave pedal and landed on the Octavius. In general it's a very handy effect not just for that indie-rock band, but also for a fattening up riffs and leads in other rock bands, or using the upper octave to create a cool texture on arpeggios.
The main thing that sold me on the Octavius over other octave pedals was the added boost. I like a clean boost at the front of my signal chain to saturate my OD's, and this does the trick perfectly. The boost function is completely independent of the octave generator, so it's basically two pedals in one.
The octave effect, in my opinion, isn't perfect. In my experience with all octave pedals, and this being no exception, there's a tiny bit of latency on the octave tracking. It simply doesn't respond the way you want your notes to respond on the guitar.
I also noticed it having problems with certain notes. For some reason, when I play Ab on my D string, the octave cuts in and out, like it's having a hard time duplicating that one note. Same pitch on a different string, no problem. No idea why that happens, and it doesn't happen all the time, but it's noticeable on a clean signal.
Also, as you turn the Master Mix knob up, your dry signal gets quieter as the octave signal gets louder. If you were expecting it to just add the octaves on top of your signal, that's not the case. And perhaps that's why they added the boost function.
The Octavius sounds best in front of my OD and distortion boxes, partly because of the boost, but also because a little dirt masks some of that inauthentic response and any trouble it has with the tracking. For my needs, this pedal gets the job done, is built well, and is very transparent.
